Pros: Easy to insert

My dr. recommended these contacts after I had been using Pro clear for about 2 years...Felt great initially, after a few hours of wear, vision becomes very blurry. I have suffered many headaches from trying to focus on my computer screen at work!!! Eyes are also red and irritated looking.

Pros: Extremely clear vision

Has been wearing Acuvue Advance: 3 Months, 5 days/week, 16 hours/day

I've worn soft contacts for almost 20 years. My optometrist strongly recommended these lenses, so I tried them. This is the worst experience I've ever had with contacts! Only a couple of hours after I put them in, it feels like an eyelash is behind the lens. My vision gets blurry, my eyes water and get dry, and the lenses pop out with no warning. The lenses rip easily - when I picked them out of the lens basket and when I was wearing them! They don't last anywhere near the two weeks the box says. More like 2-7 days. I can see mucous-y protein deposits on them by this time.

although i should not extend these as long as i do, i feel they are the best contacts i have ever used for this reason. i do end up with some buildup and will replace them whenever i notice this happening. I do sometimes have to go a week or so without using any contacts to let my eyes rest before putting in new ones.

These are overpriced and the claim that they'll last 2 weeks is about a 4-5X exageration of how long it takes before I literally can try dozens of times to wear them to no avail. Never buy these.

I found these lenses hard to keep clean, even with enzyme soaking and using specialized cleaners, I only get a week max out of them. They get covered with hunks of white deposits, I am assuming these are protein deposits. I am very pleased with how well I see from these lenses, I just wish they lasted a little longer.

After using Acuvue 2 for about 2 years, I decided to try Acuvue Advance, and I haven't gone back since! I love how these contacts are so comfortable, even after wearing them for a long period of time. I wear my contacts for up to 14 hrs in a day and I don't even need to put eye drops in. There are times that they can become blurry, but one or two drops of rewetting drops will do the trick. They really are great and I would recommend this brand to anyone.

Has been wearing Acuvue Advance: 5 Years, 7 days/week, 13 hours/day

I have been wearing Acuvue lenses for many years and I had pain in my eyes. I complained it to my doctor but my doctor didn't think it has anything to do with the contact lenses and just didn't know what it was. My pain went away when I switched to Proclear but I still wasn't sure whether is was contact lenses related until I tried Acuvue Oasis during a new contact lense fitting. The pain came back! During the fitting period I tried several brands and I would always get eye strains and pain in my eyes when I wear Acuvue lenses so I concluded all Acuvue lenses are not suitable for me. Other than that, it seems to provide good vision. This fitting experience also taught me that you really have to try a lens and find out whether it works for you or not. Other people's experience may or may not apply to you so find a doctor who will let you try various brands for comparison. And then you judge for yourself.

Has been wearing Acuvue Advance: 0 Year, 7 days/week, 15 hours/day

Cleaning solution used: Costco generic

I've worn contacts for about 15 years and never had a problem with any brand of lens. Upon my optometrists rigorous recommendation, I switched to Acuvue Advanced even though it was significantly more expensive. I've been utterly disappointed--there is no rhyme or reason to when my lenses have a crisp focus or when they go blurry. I assumed maybe it was just a bad fit, so I returned for a follow-up visit--nope, he said they fit perfectly. Hm, then I started reading all the complaints people have about blurred vision with the Advanced lenses--I'll never buy these again. When stored over night, I've noticed they tend to roll so that in the morning they have sharp creases at the midline of the lens; just yesterday, I had a tear in the corner of one of them after just one week of wear. Argh. I can't wait to finish the box and switch to a new brand so I can start seeing clearly again!

I used to fall asleep and dry me lenses and eyes. I used Focus and O2 Optix then but Advance really disappoint here. At first, I thought it were defective lenses, but the first 2 of the six lenses box were functioning normally. Afterward, they blur after the first time you soak them. Who want to buy monthly for single use?? The +ve reviewer are misleading, price is not a con for lenses if they WORK, too much negative reviews to be an exception.

Cleaning solution used: Renu Multi Purpose

Replaces contacts every: 30 Days

I just switched to these lenses and I'm going through them so fast. I try to wait for 30 days, but sometimes I have to switch lenses after only 2 weeks because my vision is so badly blurred. They accumulate protein deposits which cause the blurred vision and they are uncomfortable after only a few days of wearing them, you can start to FEEL them in your eye. I used to change my disposables every 3 months (even though they were 2 week disposables) and I was never bothered by them. This brand however, you NEED to change them every 2-4 weeks or they become really uncomfortable. I'll be switching brands once I use up all the ones I purchased.

My first try with disposable. Going from vial lenses (CSI DW) to disposable, I struggled with the thinness of the disposable.. However, I save a lot of money not having to enzyme clean any more. I tried the Astigmatism ones for a 2 week trial and always felt like there was an eyelash under the contact or something. All in all, try them to see if they work for you. Obviously 1 brand doesn't fit all. They are not bad

Pros: Inexpensive

Cons: Too thin to handle, uncomfortable when first put in

Has been wearing Acuvue Advance: 3 Months, 7 days/week, 18 hours/day

These lenses are horrible. They are extremely thin compared to my previous lens, the SoftLens 66 from B&L. This makes them difficult to handle as they tend to roll up or turn themselves inside out in my hand before I can put them in. It takes me many time longer to put these in than other lenses. I also find I have a difficult time adapting to them each morning and find myself taking them back out, rewashing, and putting them back in again sometimes several times before I leave in the morning.

I have been wearing these contacts for 2 years, and they're better than the other brands i tried before. Acuvue Advance with Hydroclear contacts are very soft, and they can be worn for a long time. I wear them for adverge 9 hours, and they stay comfortable. But sometimes they can get a bit blur, but few drops of eye-drops can make it go away. I say this is one of the best contacts you can wear for long comfort.

I have used contacts for over 20 years and these seem to be the most innovative in terms of moisture and comfort. Others I've tried have felt like dried plastic film after 10 - 12 hours of wear. These remain soft, even if slept in. The minor vision blurriness is a trade off for the comfort.

O.D. wanted me to try these because my Acuvue Toric lenses "sat a little low" on my eye. Lenses looked like bowls, very deep and large, with a specific oreintation required to get vision correction. Wore lenses 17 hrs/day for 1 week and my eyes always felt tired and I had major problems with the lense rotating out of oreintation resulting in blurred vision. Went back to old Acuvue Toric lenses.

My first pair of trial lenses lasted me almost three weeks. After that I went through three pairs in as many weeks. After about a week in each case, one of the lenses wouldn't feel comfortable. It felt like something was in my eye. After inspecting the lens that was bothering me I noted that there was a small cut/piece of the lens missing on the side. My most recent pair lasted only a week, I inspected them but did not see anything, but they were hazy and they didn't feel good. I bought another box of them thinking also, as someone else mentioned, that I had a bad batch. Same thing happened. I gave them a good review because they enable me not to wear my glasses and I'm not sure that I can wear any another lenses. They feel great the first week or so. My eye doctor told me I could get a month out of them easily. I wish.

I have been wearing contacts for the past five years or so. Along the years I have tried diffrent brands of contact lenses. Some of them were fine while the others just yield problems. That's the reason that I have been changing lenses in the first place. a year ago when I first came across this J&J Advance contact lenses. Judging from the advertisement and technical information, I assume that this would be the dream lenses I have been looking for. But after a year of patient trial given to this brand of lenses, I have to give it a thumbs down for its under-average performance-it dries my eyes out very quickly, and it causes discomfort to my eyes too. The best lenses I have ever used is still Focus monthly visitint (by B&L? Ciba?).

I have worn different brand lenses in each eye for about 7 years, thanks to an innovative optomotrist that would rather correct vision using lens fit rather than cranking up the prescription. Thanks to my insurance, I now get to go to a "big box" chain who cares more about selling lenses than quality eye care. I wore Acuvue2 in my right eye and Focus in my left. Very comfortable, no change in prescrip. in 7 years. This year I was told that "big box" could no longer get the Focus, so I needed to change. The Acuvue advance were new, great, and just what I needed. I have been wearing the Advance for 3 weeks. I complained about them after my initial fitting, but they said it was probably just a bad pair. I've gone through 4 pairs in 3 weeks. They're uncomfortable, make my eyes itch and give me a headache. My mother was fed the same line from "big box" and had the same issues. The optician told her that they have been having issues with this particular lens because of the silicone. "Big box" wouldn't write me a script for my old lenses because THEY didn't carry them anymore -- not because they were no longer available. Now I need to pay another $65 for another prescription and they still won't write me a script for the old ones. These may be comfy for some, but if you're sensitive to silicone, they're absolute garbage.

But when i changed jobs and started wearing them everyday for 10 hours a day i have had nothing but problems. So, I started replacing my contacts about once a month then every three weeks then 2 and now it's once a week. Over a course of time my contacts would develope a haze or rough edges. I contacted my Eye Doctor many of times regarding this and have purchased new contacts in hopes that it was bad batch. And even threw out bottles of solutions. Well i don't think that was the problem. I use to work in a eye health care profession and i know how important it is to be clean when handling contacts and i made sure i did that each time. But for strange reason i keep having the samething happening over and over again.

I made the jump from my old Boston rigid gas permeable lenses to soft lenses for the first time, and Acuvue Advance is what my optometrist suggested. I couldn't be happier about the comfort of this lens. It's the first soft lens I've ever tried, so I don't have a base of comparison, but I couldn't ever go back to RGP lenses again. I can wear them for twelve hours straight, and they're still comfortable. However, the vision correction in this lens (and maybe all soft lenses, for an RGP wearer) isn't perfect. For some reason, with these lenses, sometimes my vision is crystal clear and I'm amazed at the sharpness, but other times things are a bit blurrier than I would like. I've had the lenses for two months, and so far, I'd trade the comfort for the ultra-crispness.

Has been wearing Acuvue Advance: 2 Months, 7 days/week, 14 hours/day

Cleaning solution used: Clear Care

Replaces contacts every: 7 Days

I have always worn a yearly soft contact (Cibasoft Standard Visitint) and thought I'd try a disposable. My doc recommended these and they feel awesome the very first day you put them in- super soft, moist, etc. But ever since I've had them, they do not even last the minimum 2 weeks before I have to put the new ones in. And when I take them out at night, my eyes itch. It almost feels like edges get frayed or something, but of course, nothing is visible to the naked eye upon inspection.

Pros: moist, feel like wear nothing

Cons: bit expensive, too soft

Has been wearing Acuvue Advance: 1 Year, 7 days/week, 13 hours/day

Now that I can wear my contact lens for whole day long PLUS without even using a drop of eyes lubricant. My eyes have a very high myopy power and a bit of astigmatism. I have 13 years of history wearing lenses that with each passing days getting more uncomfortable. Not so with Acuvue Advance. From day 1 till 3 weeks after that (a week more than the recommended lenses change), I do not have any complaints. No red eyes, no irritation, no dry up, no getting blury. The lenses are felt so light, clear and easy to manage. Highly recommended. Try a box.

3/10/06 by Coffey: "Best So Far"

Pros: Long lasting and Moist

Cons: Vision still goes bad over time

Has been wearing Acuvue Advance: 2 Years, 7 days/week, 15 hours/day

Cleaning solution used: Renu Multipurpose No-Rub

Replaces contacts every: 14 Days

I've been wearing these lenses for a while now. They're generally very comfortable and given me better vision than I've ever had with other lenses. But, I'm not sure if it's just because my vision has gotten significantly worse over the years, but the images aren't as crisp as I would like it to be. I have moments of perfect clarity but usually have a bit of fuzziness. Recently I had tried the Acuvue Oasys but that turned out to be worse for me than this so I'm sticking to it. ^_^

Pros: The blue color made them easy to see.

Cons: Irritated my eyes.

Has been wearing Acuvue Advance: 1 Year, 7 days/week, 12 hours/day

I have very dry eyes. I have tried to give the Acuvue Advance lenses a chance. But I found that they also irritated my eyes. My doctor gave me the O2Optix lenses the same day she gave me the Acuvue lenses. The 02Opix lenses, for me, are much more comfortable without any irritation. I love them.

Has been wearing Acuvue Advance: 2 Months, 7 days/week, 15 hours/day

When I was using other contacts I had to take them out after 9 hours because they would dry my eyes out. With Acuvue Advance with Hydroclear my eyes stay moist for a long period of time, more than my old ones. Now i can keep my contacts in until i go to bed. Its amazing how good they work. Im very happy i changed to Acuvue Advance with Hydroclear contacts.

5/21/05 by Joe: "Most comfortable contacts"

Pros: No irritation whatsoever

Cons: Just have to pay a little more than regular contacts

Has been wearing Acuvue Advance: 2 Months, 7 days/week, 18 hours/day

Cleaning solution used: AMO* Complete Moisture Plus no rub Multi-purpose solution

Replaces contacts every: 21 Days

I have been using these contacts for about 2 months. At first i was skeptical and figured that all contact lens must hurt somehow. However, I was proved wrong. You can wear these contacts all day without the bothersome irritation you eyes get from long term wear of contacts. These must be the best brand of contacts out there. I would recommend these for anyone with sensitive eyes.
