9/05/10 by Memitim: "Almost like having perfect eyes"

Pros: Comfortable, great fit, clear, easy to remove and replace

Cons: They're still contact lenses. :)

Has been wearing Acuvue 2: 10 Years, 7 days/week, 16 hours/day

Cleaning solution used: Opti-Free

Replaces contacts every: 14 Days

I am a long time wearer of the Acuvue 2 and never really gave them a lot of thought. In retrospect, after dealing with a week of horror with the Acuvue Oasys, not giving my contacts much thought is probably the highest compliment that I can pay to them. I never really grasped just how amazing they are as I took for granted that a contact lens is a contact lens. NOT SO. The Acuvue 2 is a rock solid performer. Vision stays consistently clear and focusing is easy regardless of distance. They rarely get bumped out of place, even after vigorously rubbing my eyes. Taking them out is incredibly simple, inserting them is nearly as easy, and, unlike their predecessor the original Acuvue, it is fairly easy to distinguish when the Acuvue 2 has been flipped inside-out. I look forward to the day when I finally get my eyes surgically repaired and no longer have to think about contact lenses at all. As long as I can still get my Acuvue 2 fix, I can wait patiently for that day to come.

Pros: Comfort, Price, Great vision while wearing

Cons: None

Cleaning solution used: Renu MultiPlus Solution

These contacts are the best. I have been using them for about 12 years and do not have any complaints. I wear contacts about 6-7 days a week for about 14 hours each day and work in front of a computer all day. They are the best contacts ever, extremely comfortable, do not dry out and you do not feel the contact at all. The eye doctor recommended I switch to Acuvue Oasys, but I did not want to switch. He said these contacts may be phased out in the future. I hope they do not get phased out because they are the best.

Been wearing contacts for 12 years, and these are by far the worst ones I've ever had. I find myself wearing glasses more often than the contacts because an hour after I put them in my eyes are so dry they hurt and I can't see well.

I wore plain Acuvue for 12 years. Last January I switched to Acuvue Adavnce as I was told the old, plain Acuvue were being discontinued and I have a bit of a dry eye issue. I gave the Adavnce a try what the heck. Right? Wrong! Advance were awful! Gritty bad feeling all the time. Horrible. So last month I switched to Acuvue 2 and they ROCK! So comfortable and great! I'm in heaven.... I totally recommend them. Especially for someone who needs a really thin lens!

I have been wearing thse contacts for about 5 years now. When I was at my last eye exam, my dr recommended the Oasys to try. He gave me a sample pair, and they were ok for a day or two, then they really started to annoy me. My eyes picked and burned - as if there was always something in my eyes. I thought it was allergies or something, so I wore my glasses for a few days. I tried them again and they still bothered me. I didn't like the thickness of them, either. I went back to Acuvue 2 and my eyes are fine. They are so comfortable and you can actually stretch them to 3 weeks. I really hope they never stop making these - they are definitely the best!

Been wearing these for a while and overall pretty good. sometimes my eyes get dry during allergy season but it may or may not be the contacts. Better than advance and oasys. I've tried them all and always come back to this contact.

I'm a viola player, and anybody who has played an instrument while wearing contacts might have an idea of what I'm talking about when I say that looking at a piece of music for a long period of time can make my eyes incredibly dry. My eyes stay open longer, so it takes a while for my eyes to keep it moist. On fast passages, this can kill me. Other than that, these contacts are pretty good.

12/07/07 by freakngroovn: "Too Much Hassle"

Pros: Thin, Comfortable

Cons: Too thin, hard to handle, self destruct, don't stay put

Replaces contacts every: 2 Months

I was wearing the original AccuView for several years and really liked them. I took them out every night, cleaned them regularly, and didn't have to replace them very often at all. A pair would last about a year. These "new and improved" lenses are thinner, and are hard to handle. They fold over on themselves and I have to manipulate them too much to get them into my eyes. Once there, they do not stay in place nearly as well as the originals. They roll up and under my eyelids, or fall out on my cheek. They also don't do as well should I happen to fall asleep in them, and seem to dry out and cause me grief until I can get drops in my eyes. I wouldn't recommend them.

3/29/07 by BeachTraveler: "Nice lenses - Love the disposables - what's with the oxygen?"

Pros: Thinner than original Acuvue's - very affordable

Cons: Doesn't get as much oxygen to the eye as other brands.

Cleaning solution used: Ciba Vision

Well, I was phased into these lenses from the original Acuvue disposables. I went in screaming and kicking, but they are actually quite nice. They are thinner than the original Acuvue's which is more comfortable, but I don't believe they lasted as long. I felt I needed to replace them more frequently. Maybe it's a good thing for me because I was wearing them for 2 days at a time... which I don't recommend, BTW. I've been very happy with these - also tried O2Optix - they were horribly uncomfortable compared with the Acuvue 2s.

Pros: I already bought a year's supply.

Cons: My eyes hurt every night.

Has been wearing Acuvue 2: 2 Months, 7 days/week, 15 hours/day

Every night when I take out my contacts. I can feel my cornea scraping against my eyelids. It feels like I have sand inside there. I can't shut my eyes to sleep. It is torture! If I put my contacts back in, my eyes feel fine. It is like the contacts protect my cornea from my eyelids. Then when I take them off it kills.

Cons: pops out sometimes

I recently switched to acuvue from O2 optix and it is so much better. You don't feel anything in your eyes at all. They are very soft and lightweight. Sometimes I have to wear my contacts for over 12 hours and acuvue doesn't give me trouble at all, even after all that time. The only problem I have with it is that it pops out sometimes when you have to rub your eyes. But other than that, it is great and feels very comfortable.

Pros: They feel great. Never dry out

Cons: None

I have been wearing contacts for over 5 years now and these are the best I've ever worn. I was given some O2 optics to try and they dried my eyes out very bad, and then I was given some Provisions to try and I had the same effect. As soon as I put the acuvue2's in they felt great. I would recommend these to anybody who has dry eyes or gets dry eyes very easily.

Wear them all day, every day. Most comfortable of any I've tried. Great optics. My eye doctor also told me it is absolutely not necessary to replace them every 14 days (it's a money-making scam!). He advised wearing them until they are no longer comfortable. I usually get at least a month out of each pair.

I have been wearing acuvue 2 for about 5 years. I am tired of dry eyes. When I first started to wear them(first month or two) they were fine but my eyes get drier and drier as time goes on also they get a little blurry as the day goes by. I take them out every night and it doesn't help.

These are probubly the best contacts i have ever tried. The doctors say you need to change them every two weeks if you dont wear them at night but I can wear them for about a mounth and a half before they become kind of uncomfortable. So I would recomemd these contacts to anyone.

4/15/06 by Sahd0w: "very good!"

Pros: Stays moist for a long time

Cons: When taken out my eyes seem to become dry...

Has been wearing Acuvue 2: 4 Months, 7 days/week, 11 hours/day

Cleaning solution used: Opti-free

Replaces contacts every: 21 Days

I began wearing contact lenses only 4 months ago. These were the first lenses I was given to try, and I have stayed using them since. I love them.. they never become uncomfortable, they stay moist 99% of the time, and I have never actually felt the need to throw them out after 2 weeks.. I only do so because of doctor's instructions. The only thing, which may also be caused from the contact solution, is that when I take out the contacts my eyes become dry, red and sensitive. I never have this problem when the contacts are in, and this problem only occurs in the morning. Beyond that, I love these contacts, and I will probably never change to another brand. Definately recommended.
