Acuvue Oasys Reviews
9/05/10 by Memitim: "Worst contact experience yet"Pros: They work for the first 15-20 minutes Cons: Itching, pain, blurring, severe redness Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Month, 7 days/week, 16 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Opti-Free Replaces contacts every: 14 Days I have worn contacts for over 15 years. I started with Acuvues and moved to Acuvue 2s when they came out. I've never had problems, not even those that seem to be typical for people who regularly wear contact lens. When I went to my last prescription update, the doc recommended the Oasys lenses. Out of curiosity, I decided to try them. It has been a week of hell. For the first 15 minutes after putting them in, things seem alright, although switching from focusing on far objects to near objects, like road sign to dash gauge when driving, seemed a little slow. However, vision begins to blur and an itch starts creeping in. By about an hour, my eyes were full-on itchy and the burning sensation would start kicking in. Red rings around the edges of the lenses would start developing on my eyes and close up viewing became very difficult. I went back to the optometrist yesterday because I discovered that prescriptions are specific to a particular kind of lens when Walmart refused to sell me Acuvue 2s. Why there isn't a standard sizing schema for a medical product is completely beyond my comprehension and a severe problem, but beyond the scope of this review. I got my prescription changed to Acuvue 2 and got a trial pair just to make sure that it was indeed the Oasys causing the problems and not a bad fit. The past 24 hours have been absolutely wonderful. Do NOT waste your time and money trying Acuvue Oasys lenses.
8/27/10 by Coralville: "bad lens"Pros: none Cons: blurred and fogged vision Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Year, 6 days/week, 11 hours/day Replaces contacts every: 14 Days I used Acuvue 2 for one year, and there was no big problems at all. Last month, I got a new prescription from my optometrist who suggested me to change to Oasys. Since then I'm suffering from foggy and blurry vision. I cannot focus when reading. I googled and found the same problems happened to lots of people using Oasys. I'm glad I found the answer. I'm going to see my optometrist this weekend and ask her to give me a new prescription.
8/27/10 by Kris: "Disappointing "Pros: Comfortable for first few hours. Cons: Sore, Dry, cloudy patches, Random taring, Foggy, Itchy Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 3 Years, 6 days/week, 12 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Opti-Free Replaces contacts every: 14 Days I have been using contacts for about 3 and a half years, and only tried two brands, Acuvue being the better, which I have stuck with nearly since day one. My contacts are always dry within about two hours, causing itching and blurred vision, not to mention the crispy feeling. After about 6 hours of wear when I blink the contacts are so dry they begin to reset with the pinching motion of the eye lids. Often they do not last 14 days as they will just decide to be incurably foggy, happening randomly. I am very good with cleaning them and never sleep with them in. The one time I slept with them in they were like glue. Often I experience scratched eyes and redness in the morning. I do have allergies in summer but take common medicine for it. My eye doctor recommended Blink Drops, they worked- sort of. I have resorted to carrying drops everywhere with me, as well as glasses and contact case due to the frequency of my contacts malfunctioning.
8/27/10 by Maggie: "TRY Clear Care Solution! Normal MPS does NOT work!!"Pros: Supposedly better for your eyes Cons: Itchy, foggy--UNTIL I switched solutions Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 2 Years, 7 days/week, 10 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Clear Care Replaces contacts every: 14 Days I have worn these lenses for over 2 years. At first, they weren't so bad, but after a bit they started fogging up and getting incredibly itchy and irritated after just a couple hours in my eyes. I felt half asleep all day just because I couldn't keep my eyes from watering, itching, burning...even after I took my contacts out at night I'd have bad burning in my eyes. Stupidly, I just blamed it on the dry climate and thought I had to live with it. NO! There is a solution! My eye doctor never told me all this (looks like most don't, judging by these reviews), and if it's just because they get paid to talk up certain brands, that's practically malpractice, it seems to me...but that's for another day. So I looked around a ton, and here's what I found (disclaimer: I am not a doctor/scientist/whatever. I just found this stuff through reviews and articles on the internet, but it worked for me!). Oasys, and a few other contacts, are a completely different material than most lenses. They are supposed to be better for your eye because they let more oxygen through (I have a very high prescription, so it's highly advised for me to wear these as others are too thick--otherwise I would have chucked them in the garbage). This different material can cause problems, though. Some people are straight up allergic to it, but it seems like that's not that common. Much more common is a reaction to the solution you're using. Oasys are also much more permeable, so any impurities get soaked up by them and then are in your eyes. Normal Multipurpose Solution has tons of chemicals and especially preservatives that can be really irritating to the eyes--seems that people can have reactions ranging from slight irritation to bad allergic reactions. Oasys just soak the preservatives and chemicals right up and plaster them to your eyes. Enter hydrogen peroxide solutions (Clear Care is the one I've used so far, and there might be others). This solution does not have preservatives, and cleans with hydrogen peroxide (Con: it will seriously hurt your eyes if you don't follow the directions-read the label!!). This means there are no chemicals soaked up by your contacts. Combine that with trying to not use eye drops with preservatives, and much of the irritation will probably be gone. (Heard about Blink Contacts eye drops in another review and they're pretty good). I decided to give it a try, so started on Clear Care, and it was like a miracle. I wasn't expecting that much, but all of a sudden, I wasn't wanting to scratch my eyes out by lunchtime, and I no longer had the horrible burning by the end of the day. They actually felt pretty good!! I've been using Clear Care for a few weeks now, and so far, so good. My contacts haven't felt this good in years. I can't believe I didn't figure it out sooner and am seriously annoyed at my eye doctor for not mentioning that something like this might help when I complained of irritated eyes. I still gave these contacts relatively low reviews because I still don't think they're quite as comfortable as some others, but the health benefits of them are supposedly pretty impressive, so I'd like to continue using them. I hope my experience can help someone--this solution might be a little pricier than store brand MPS, but it is so worth it to have my eyes feel normal again.
8/25/10 by Claudia: "DO NOT GET THESE "Pros: none Cons: dry eyes, scratched eyes, red eyes, irriation. Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 2 Months, 6 days/week, 7 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Opti-Replenish Replaces contacts every: 14 Days I'm a first time user for contacts and my doctor recommended theses contacts. Never have i thought that contacts were supposed to make your eyes red and i've been told "i'd get used to them" but it's been 2 months and i haven't seen any changes. They make my eyes red, and dry and when i take them out it feels like my eyes are all scratched up. I'm changing these contacts as soon as possible and going with B&L. Do not get these contacts, they're horrible.
8/25/10 by Kayla: "these were aweful "Pros: none Cons: red eyes, dryness, headache, irritation Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 2 Years, 5 days/week, 6 hours/day Cleaning solution used: opti-free replenish Replaces contacts every: 7 Days I wear these contacts to school and within the first hour my eyes become red and dry. I change them weekly and I do change my solution everyday but the results have been the same since day one. These contacts are terrible and were a waste of my money
8/24/10 by Jill in NY: "stay away!"Pros: none Cons: watery, goopy, red and itchy eyes Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 7 Months, 5 days/week, 12 hours/day Replaces contacts every: 14 Days I started using these contacts in Feb. 2010. Soon after, I got a case of pink eye that lasted one month (didn't wear my contacts during that month). I switched to a new pair of contacts once the infection was clear for at least a week, and about two months later got ANOTHER case of pink eye. Now, my eyes become itchy, watery, goopy and gross if I wear these for more than two hours. Contacts aren't supposed to do this!! Switching back to old contacts, I should have never purchased these to begin with.
8/21/10 by Blair: "I cant see good with them on"Pros: Good for dry eyes Cons: They do not go on easy and i cant see Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 0 Year, 7 days/week, 10 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Optive replentish Replaces contacts every: 14 Days For some reason i am not able to see with them on. my doctors office will not let me exchange them for a differnt brand. they are also alot harder to get into my eyes opposed to other brands ive tried. i would like a refund on my two boxs of this brand.
8/19/10 by Tm: "Just terrible."Pros: None Cons: Headaches, itchy eyes, bad vision... Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 0 Year, 7 days/week, 8 hours/day Replaces contacts every: 3 Months I got a trial pair of these contacts after having not worn contacts for 3 years. I told the doctor that I wore Acuvue 2 before these contacts, but he said that I should try these ones instead. So I did. I immediately noticed extreme discomfort in the office and told him, but he said to let them settle. I've let them settle for 3 days (not at night) and I feel as if my eyes will fall out. I get extremely sensitive to the light, my eyes adjust extremely slowly, and they just hurt my eyes. These contacts make me miss my blurred vision :(. I'm going to go back to Acuvue 2. They worked for 4 years and I was fine with them.
8/18/10 by sparrow: "AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE"Pros: Not a One Cons: Everything, pretty much Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 6 Months, 6 days/week, 8 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Renu Replaces contacts every: 14 Days 5 months of thinking I was going crazy, developing the worst seasonal allergies known to man or suffering from a degenerative eye disease. Turns out it was these awful contacts. I've been wearing contacts since I was 12 (41 now) and have never had an ounce of trouble until these. Not only are they uncomfortable to have in the eye, I also experienced blurred vision, extreme light-sensitivity, halos and great difficulty working on my computer. My doc is replacing them for free, thankfully. And for the folks who love them and think those of us who don't are just dirty people who don't clean our contacts often enough I have this to say: I never sleep in my contacts, clean them daily, and am meticulous about washing my hands before touching them. Get over yourselves.
8/17/10 by fabulousfake: "This is horrible horrible horrible ... I can't see clearly"Pros: zilch! Cons: blurry, too much water in my eyes, foggy vision Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Year, 7 days/week, 8 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Renu Replaces contacts every: 1 Year I can see the amoeba in my eyes and it kinda gives me a burning feeling that there's something in my eye. I've been using leses for 5 years now and I've used bausch and lomb and Acuvue 2. I decided to try this new one coz my doc gave it to me. It's terrible. I'm going back to Acuvue 2. If you have a doc that recommends this to you, try asking for a trial on Acuvue 2 as well.
8/07/10 by john: "lens user for over 30 years, never a problem like this."Pros: I'm no longer wearing them Cons: I wasted money on a 6 mo. supply Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 9 Months, 6 days/week, 12 hours/day Cleaning solution used: opti-free Replaces contacts every: 7 Days They were fine for the first two weeks or so, then my eyes became increasingly red, and began to discharge puss. I discontinued use for a week until what appeared to be a mild infection subsided. I installed a new set and within one week the same symptoms reappeared, making me wonder if the batch I received was contaminated. I related the story to my doctor, who had me re supplied, with the same result. I have since switched to acuvue 2 and while they are flimsy to the point of tearing one out of 10, I am no longer worried about going blind from a mystery infection.
8/05/10 by Disappointed: "Acuvue Oasys Monthlys only last a week at tops"Pros: None Cons: Acuvue Oasys Monthlys only last a week at tops Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 6 Years, 7 days/week, 12 hours/day Replaces contacts every: 7 Days Acuvue Oasys Monthlys only last a week at tops and then they film over and need to be changed. I never had problems with dry eye or allergies. I have been wearing contacts for 13 years and will never purchase Acuvue again
7/29/10 by LISHA: "CONTACTS FOG UP"Pros: MY SCRIPT Cons: FOG UP Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 2 Years, 6 days/week, 8 hours/day Cleaning solution used: RENU MULTI Replaces contacts every: 14 Days I HAVE BEEN USING THE ACUVUE CONTACT FOR ALMOST 2YRS. I WEAR GLASSES TOO, SO I DON'T WEAR THEM CONTINUOUSLY BUT OFTEN ENOUGH TO NEED RELIABLE CONTACTS. ALMOST EVERY OTHER CONTACT I WOULD TAKE OUT OF THE BOX WOULD FOG UP ON ME. I WOULD PUT THE CONTACT IN (YES WITH CLEAN HANDS) AND WITHIN AN HOUR OR 2 IT WAS FOGGED UP. THIS IS INSANE. I WOULD RINSE IT, PUT IT BACK IN AND WITHIN MINUTES IT WOULD FOG UP AGAIN. MY DOCTOR GAVE ME A DIFFERENT BRAND TO TRY, AND NO PROBLEMS.
7/26/10 by Matt: "putting contacts in inside out?????"Pros: not sure yet Cons: might have 123 system backwards Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Year, 7 days/week, 16 hours/day Replaces contacts every: 1 Month I've read a ton of the reviews and I was having the same problems everyone was talking about. I was using the 123 system to determine if my contacts were right side in. I decided to put them in with the 123 being backwards and it fixed the problem for me. It is kind of deceiving because you would think when you saw the 123 correctly, you'd be putting in the contacts correctly. I don't think it's the case, at least with mine. I have only had the contacts in for about 30 minutes but I can tell a tremendous difference. I hope this helps, please leave feedback if this solves your blurry vision.
7/14/10 by AmyR: "Horrible"Pros: NONE Cons: Blur vision, itchy, headache Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Month, 7 days/week, 8 hours/day Replaces contacts every: 1 Month I have only worn theses contact for a day and they are already blurry and itchy and I have the worst headache. I will be changing contacts as soon as possible. These are just terrible, do not waste your money.
7/10/10 by lk606: "Vision was awful"Pros: none Cons: tired eyes, blurry vision, foggy vision Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 6 Months, 5 days/week, 24 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Varies Replaces contacts every: 14 Days I've worn Acuvue 2 for years with no problem whatsoever. My doctor told me that the Acuvue 2 were being discontinued and he thought the Oasys would be better for me since I sleep in my contacts most nights and they were more breathable. The experience I had with the Oasys contacts was horrendous. The first day or so of a new pair everything seemed to be fine. By the second to third day my vision was fogged and blurry. I'd have to take them out about every 30 mins to an hour to clean my lenses. After about a week of wear, nothing could clean them, not even a protein remover. A visual inspection showed a cloudy film on the contacts that nothing could remove. I then requested to go back into Acuvue 2 lenses which I've been wearing with no problem at all ever since. If AV2 has truly been discontinued, I have no idea what I'm going to do when my current supply runs out. Hopefully all these bad reviews will convince the makers of Oasys that they are making a product that is unacceptable in most cases and they will improve it.
7/01/10 by BamaBart: "Absolutely awful."Pros: None. Cons: Pick one. Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 8 Months, 7 days/week, 14 hours/day Replaces contacts every: n/a Something must be up between the company and the optometrists. Reading other reviews, you see how hard these lenses are being pushed on people. Yet they are overwhelmingly found to be uncomfortable. Mine was a textbook case. Satisfied with my lenses, the optometrist convinced me these would be even better. Tried them and they were awful. Irritated eyes, headaches, blurred vision. The company must have figured this out early and come up with some plan to get the doc's to dump their inventory fast. I hate to sound conspiratorial but how else to explain how many people have experienced these awful lenses. It must be obvious at some point that they are not a good product but they keep getting pushed.
6/28/10 by Tammy: "Did they change how they make them???"Pros: used to be comfortable, clear Cons: now they are AWFUL - dry, painful, blurry, headaches! Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 2 Years, 7 days/week, 14 hours/day Replaces contacts every: 14 Days I have worn Acuvue Oasys for a few years after switching from Acuvue 2 which was working great but I was told they were moving to this new, better lens. I honestly thought they were fine... the solution they were in was thicker and moister... no problems for years. Then this winter I had my eye appointment and they order the same lenses I've been using but this time when they arrive they are in a thin, watery solution when I take them out and all rolling and bending in my hand. Then when I put them in, everything is blurry, they hurt and as I have them in I start getting severe headaches! I call the eye doctor and go in to see him and they call in a replacement thinking maybe the lot was bad but when the new ones arrive they are just the same! I have to think that the company has changed how they are making them and they are now AWFUL!! Anyone else experience something similar???
6/26/10 by Blurry eyed: "It's like looking through jelly or vaseline"Pros: My eyes do not feel dry Cons: they are just awful Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Year, 7 days/week, 8 hours/day Replaces contacts every: 14 Days I have been wearing them for close to a year, and for the first three days, I have to clean them constantly. If I don't clean them every 2 hours, I can't see through them. It is almost like looking through vaseline.
6/21/10 by D: "Good example of bad experienc with Oasys"Pros: Optician and Opthamologist preferred Cons: but didn't work for me Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 5 Months, 7 days/week, 12 hours/day Cleaning solution used: ReNu Replaces contacts every: 30 Days I started Oasys in one eye only (the right), because I had some left of my former "comfortable" brand I had been wearing for years that were the same prescription for the other eye so I was wearing two different brands for 5 months. If that isn't a controlled experiment, I don't know what is. About three months into it, I had to replace the Oasys lenses more often, had deteriorating vision (in and out of focus), and started getting a droopy right eyelid! Went to an opthamologist to get a more clinical look at the eye. He noted many "irregularities" on the cornea of the right eye only. I was to stay off contacts alltogether and after one week of not wearing them, the right eye was better. Although he was not willing to believe the contacts caused any damage, and he says they are his top selling brand. I have heard that people that may have a lot of protein in their tear may have problems because the water absorbancy of the Oasys actually sucks in the protein more and holds it against the eye. After a full day, the Oasys lens did feel like it was sucked onto my eyeball. I am starting back with Sauflons (yes they still make them, although that is not what they like to prescribe) little by little, and when they feel dry, I can feel it better, and know to add drops or take them out.
6/20/10 by Emily: "Useless!"Pros: None Cons: Irritated, itchy, swollen eyes Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 0 Month, 7 days/week, 12 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Equate Multi-Purpose Solution Replaces contacts every: n/a These contacts were fine when I used them for my trial version but about a week after ordering them they started to make my left eye really irritated. It was in unbearable pain and I couldn't concentrate on anything I was doing, and this was only after wearing them for around 4 hours. Its sad how we can't trust our doctors and so we just order what they recommend before researching. But I called my doctor's office and they said that 1-800-contacts would replace them with other contacts, so at least theres that. But until that happens I'm stuck with these.
6/18/10 by Danny: "SUCKS!"Pros: The do seem to moisturize my eyes a little better Cons: Tiny folds can occur at removal Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 2 Years, 7 days/week, 14 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Clear Care Replaces contacts every: 14 Days Not bad contacts at first, but if your not careful to avoid any side part of the lens when they are removed (and can be a tiny bit dry) it is easy to put a tiny fold in the lens. Tomorrow when this is in your eye for several hours the fold gets caught on your eyelid while you blink constantly knocking your contact off center of your eye and making it necessary to replace them rather quickly. This displacement causes me to rub my eyes sometime without noticing, which has lead to eye infection. Go with something else, if you are too lazy to take your lenses out at night get disposable lenses.
6/17/10 by Guutvent: "Best ever, can't believe the other reviews"Pros: Perfect vision, eyes stay wet, high comfort Cons: none Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 4 Years, 7 days/week, 16 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Alcon Replaces contacts every: 14 Days Four years ago I switched from regular hydrogel lenses to these silicone hydrogel ones. My eyedoctor subscribed these because my eyes where very dry with the other ones. Comfort is very, very, very nice. I can fall asleep with these lenses in, when I wake up, everything is okay! Last week I tried some Silicone Hydrogel daillies and I could rally tell the difference. i was so glad when going back to oasys, I could feel my eyes breathe again.
6/09/10 by Dawgs: "The Worst"Pros: There is none Cons: To say they are the best Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 9 Years, 7 days/week, 12 hours/day Cleaning solution used: ALCON Replaces contacts every: 14 Days Was wearing Sofmeds forever and figured that I deserved to get a better lens( boy was I wrong).Got these about 6 weeks ago nothing but problems since the first time i put them in..First week no prob second eyes started to feel irritated then a day later my left eye became REALLY SENSITIVE to sunlight to the point of it felt like a laser beam in my eye when light hit it..Went to eye doctor and said that I had a retinal infection 2 weeks later it went away. Now my eyes are blood shot every day feel sore and irritated back and forth to eye doctor..Going again this weekend..Refuse to put these pieces of garbage back in my eye and out $200.00 sucks..DO NOT BUY THIS JUNK
5/28/10 by Finney: "Great for me, but not for everyone"Pros: Comfortable, stay moist, good for dry eyes Cons: Price Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 10 Months, 7 days/week, 12 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Generic No-Rub Replaces contacts every: 14 Days Just like any medical device, which contacts are, the same thing will not work for everyone, and anything carries a risk with it whether it's a medication or contacts. However, for me, these have been the ONLY lenses I can wear. Several years ago I tried at least 5 brands with no success. Constantly felt like there was something in my eye that shouldn't be (more than "lens awareness"), unbelievable dryness, vision worse with contacts than without. No eye doctor seemed to believe me and said I just needed to get used to them. Kind of hard to to when you can't stand to have them in your eyes! So I gave up on contacts until my last eye exam, and was still very hesitant to try these. They have been great. I didn't think there was a contact out there that was suited for me, but these are. They do get dry sometimes, but compared to the problems I was having, it's VERY minor. Take that into consideration: I had major problems with most lenses other people love. Different things are right for different people. This lens may not work for you. It happens. And yes there are risks any time you put anything into or onto your body.
5/24/10 by Al: "FYI for Dissatisfied Users"Pros: Can sleep in them Cons: Don't work for everyone b/c of the silicone Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 0 Month, 7 days/week, 18 hours/day Replaces contacts every: 1 Month I have worn the same kind of lenses for the past 10 years or so but have been having more and more trouble with falling asleep before I take them out. Since my eyes have been getting really irritated by this (contacts cut off the oxygen to the eye), my doctor gave me a sample pair of the oasys for astigmatism ones. I have tried ones you could sleep in before and had many of the same issues I saw here- basically it looks like pinkeye or at the least, extremely irritated, bloodshot eyes, but if you're having this and you keep changing your contacts and it's not better then you are most likely ALLERGIC TO THE CONTACT ITSELF! These "better" contacts that allow for more air-flow do so because they are made of silicone, but your eye can be allergic to it and give these symptoms. You need to go back to your eye dr and get a new kind (and if they actually charge you for finding a new kind, esp. due to an allergic reaction, you really need to find a new dr!) I'm trying the oasys for a few more days, but am still having periods of very blurry/cloudy vision so I'm not sure how much longer I'll last! Just wanted to share about the allergies as it was something I nor my dr thought of at first, but knowing that info has made a world of difference!
5/13/10 by jessie: "eye infection, cornea damage"Pros: none Cons: irritated eyes, infection, gloopy eyes, poor vision Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 2 Years, 6 days/week, 10 hours/day Cleaning solution used: boots own brand Replaces contacts every: 14 Days Been on Acuvue advanced for years with no problems, switched to these on advice from my opticion. gradually started getting itchy eyes with poor vision, they never seemed to be clean and seemed to rip easily. every morning woke up with eyes stuck together but assumed it was hayfever. Gradually vision became so blurred I went to hospital unaware the lenses were to blame and discovered I had an infection and cornea damage ! They didn't admit it was from this lense and just contacts in general ! Yet I have wore lenses for years and never had an eye infection. researching online has uncovered lots of people have had the same problem. Luckily I have alreay requested to change back to my old lenses. Yet the opticion didn't seem to believe my claims that these lenses were uncomfortable and itchy. Also I had to replace the lenses more than every 14 days as they became unbearable to wear ! I will be printing this page off and taking it to the opticions tommorrow morning !
5/11/10 by popo: "Do not purchase"Pros: they are awfl Cons: everything about it Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 0 Year, 5 days/week, 4 hours/day Replaces contacts every: 14 Days wow im not the only one with this problem. I have worn acuvue 2 for about 3 years when the eye doctor introduced me to acuvue oasys ..he told me it eill help my eyes breath. I started to wear oasys july 15 2008 and by the 18th my eyes started to burn and turn red. I thought it was because i was tired so i went to sleep that night hoping it would get better. When i woke up the next morning my eyes were glued shut and they were heurting. My mom had to rush me to the emergency room. They told me i had a corneal abrasion . Since them i havent been able to wear contacts because i did not know what the problem was. I've been through so much pain do to those contacts. Is there a lawsuit against oasys that i can join?
5/10/10 by JamieB: "Not at all what I expected!"Pros: supposed to be able to sleep in them Cons: could barely wear in daytime much less nighttime! Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Year, 5 days/week, 10 hours/day Replaces contacts every: 1 Month Eye DR recommend this brand when I went in at my last appt. not even a month ago. Said it was basically the same as my last brand that I loved, except more breathable and could sleep in them. Eyes started getting red with the trial pair, thought maybe it was getting used to new brand so picked up my year supply and went on my way. Within a week I was hurrying to another eye dr that was located closer because my eyes were beet red and after waking in the am (never even wore them overnight) to swollen, dry, eyes decided it was time to see someone. He blamed it on allergies effecting contacts because they were such a great kind they couldn't possibly be the problem. Well week after so called infection is gone, wore contacts for six hours and they are red yet again. Calling normal eye dr in am and hopefully they're under warranty or something so I can get my original brand back! Hate them!!
5/02/10 by bri: "worst ever"Pros: comfy at first Cons: itchy, goopy, dry, stingy...waste of time and money Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 2 Years, 6 days/week, 12 hours/day Cleaning solution used: alcon Replaces contacts every: 3 Months I got Acuvue Oasys contacts in November 2008. I was excited to wear them over night out of convenience with getting up at night with a young child. The first pack that i had, more memorable the first pair, i wore just fine for about 5 days straight. i was told that i could wear them for that long but i cant even wear them now for more than a few hours. I have spent countless minutes in the bathroom trying to scrub at least one more itchy one in my palm. i thought it was due to my slight astigmatism or solution...i never thought it would actually be this serious. ready these posts has been an eye opener and now i know that its not me its the contacts. i can remember on some occasions that usually one eye, my left, would be worse than the other. i would have to lay down and put a cold cloth over my eye to relieve the burning, itchy, stinging scratchiness of them. i have also been so miserable with them that i have had to take out the contact that was more irritable and throw it in the garbage at work or out the car window and go a couple hours with just one contact in just to get some relief. i have called the doctor's office 2x to complain about them but they just tell me they couldnt just change the type of contacts over the phone, that i would have to come and pay out of pocket for an exam. i will have to schedule one to see what i can do. i still wake up with very dry itchy eyes and the only thing that helps (temporarily) is visine eye drops. i cant help but be very upset at the wasted time, pain and money. i will never use acuvue lenses again because it is obvious that the company doesnt care about the quality of contacts due to the years of complaints. im not looking forward to my apt(paid out of pocket) to see what damage has been done. i hope that i will be able to use a different brand(paid out of pocket as well) that will work better. i have been wearing contacts for 10 years and have worn glasses since i was 6(i am 22 now) and this is the first time i have had any trouble with my eyes. i am thoroughly disappointed and plan to email acuvue's consumer email to tell them my story.
4/23/10 by Red eyes be gone: "if it doesn't work don't keep prescribing"Pros: None Cons: Everythig Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Year, 1 days/week, 3 hours/day Replaces contacts every: 14 Days I went from wearing lenses every day to only about two days a month. A month after starting the Acuvue oasys, my eyes started turning bright, bright red, itching, tearing. The lenses were very painful about an hour after putting them in. My wedding pictures had to be edited to reduce the redness in my eyes from the lenses! What's worse, I kept on telling the Dr. something was wrong with the lenses. They told me I had a medical condition (which magically showed up as soon as wearing theses lenses), dry eyes, and that we should try to cure that before changing lenses. Why try to cure the problem when you can just take away the cause! After three appointments where I was totally dismissed, I cried at the last appointment because I was so frustrated. They finally gave me my old lenses that I had used successfully for 10 years before they pushed the acuvue oasys. Guess what? My "medical condition" is gone. Dr.s have to be getting kickbacks for continuing to prescribe these to people who insist that they are not working for them.
4/01/10 by Contact Wearer: "Awful"Pros: Comfortable Cons: Blurred vision. Can't get them out. Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 3 Months, 3 days/week, 16 hours/day Replaces contacts every: 1 Month When trying to drive at night these lenses create a halo around lights making it difficult to see. When the contacts are new the film on them is so slippery I can't get them out of my eyes.
3/19/10 by Simmenthal: "Try First - Not for Everyone"Pros: Very comfortable, high Dk (if no reaction) Cons: Higher incidence of conjunctivitis, possible reaction Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Year, 7 days/week, 12 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Generic All-in-one Replaces contacts every: 14 Days I wore these without any problems for almost a year. Loved them. Could even sleep in them with no issues. Then suddenly my right eye developed the same symptoms others have described: redness, tearing, pain, etc. I am still able to wear in my left eye without problems. However, I've switched back to Acuvue Moist since these are perfectly fine contacts for me. Please be aware these are silicone high Dk lenses which have been found to cause GPC (giant papillary conjuctivitis) in many users. Read below: "In a study conducted on 120 subjects who used high-Dk silicone lenses, 13 showed signs of contact lens papillary conjunctivitis. The average onset of the disorder was about 6 months. In about 70% of the subjects the disorder was quite severe as to necessitate the discontinuation of contact lens wear. It is found that the initial clinical experience with high Dk - silicone contact lens are less susceptible to coating than conventional extended wear contact lenses. However, the silicone lenses are found to be stiffer than the non-silicone hydrogel lenses. This stiffness of the silicone lenses causes conjunctival trauma in some patients. Recent reports document that generalized CPLC is more frequent in low Dk-lens wearers whereas local CPLC is more frequent with high Dk materials. The trauma induced GPC manifests itself in a more localized fashion." So, as with all contact lenses, TRY FIRST. Do not accept your doctor's recommendation without caution. These will work great for some, and not at all for others.
3/19/10 by Town crier: "Adressing the skeptics"Pros: None Cons: Legions of complaints yet doctors continually perscribe Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Year, 4 days/week, 6 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Opti free Replaces contacts every: 14 Days This is just to address some of the skeptical reviews regarding the negative experiences with these contacts. After reading through some of the points have been " Best selling contact, negative reviews must be a conspiracy! The fact is is that these are the contacts every doctor is prescribing so it makes sense that they are a best seller. It is, however a shame they aren't warning people of the high percentage of bad reactions. "Most comfortable contacts I've ever worn, negative reviews are far fetched These reviews are just a slice of negative information regarding these lenses. These contacts apparently work for some people but for others, the results are major discomfort and sometimes downright dangerous. I think the reason people really want to speak out on these is because, most people would never think the issues they are having are due to the contacts and optometrists aren't helping to forewarn patients. I have been fortunate to have been exposed to these twice so I now know for certain it's the contacts. Also, I urge anyone who reviewed these early on to rereview if you can. Allergic reactions can be cummulative and sometimes it takes your system awhile to show reactions. If these work for you great but the word needs to be spread about the potential dangers of these lenses.
3/19/10 by Echo: "Rejection"Pros: None Cons: Painful, goopy, blurred vision, red itchy dry eyes Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Year, 4 days/week, 6 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Opti free Replaces contacts every: 1 Year As many people have said on this site, my eyes absolutely rejected these contacts. I had been prescribed Acuvue Oasys a few years ago and was always miserable in them. Ever since every doctor I have been to has tried to put me in these. I have always declined but last week my new optometrist once again suggested the Oasys and I thought I'd give them a try because it had been so many years and I couldn't exactly remember my specific complaints plus, as I mentioned before EVERY doctor I've seen has tried to suggest these. This was a bad decision on my part as within minutes my left eye felt as though it had gravel in it and my vision was so blurry I could barely finish the exam. The doctor said maybe it just needed to settle on my eye, I agreed and took them home. About 3 hours later, I was so miserable I took them out. Two days later, I tried them again and within three hours my eyes had stabbing pain, my vision was blurry, my eyes were goopy and blood red. I called the doctor and told them that the Oasys were not going to work. ᅠIt was after I made that call that I decided to research if there were any complaints on these contacts that I found this site. When I suggested to the doctor I feared I may be allergic to these lenses and that upon investigation it appeared the problems were common he became very dismissive. I won't be going back to this doctor and I certainly won't be using these lenses ever again. I think it's a disgusting shame that with so many complaints about these lenses, doctors aren't even at least warning patients of possible side effects before issuing these lenses.
3/08/10 by misty11: "i will give them 1 more day to make it 3 days and that is it"Pros: very clear when you first put them on, but diminishes later. Cons: i just dont like they way they feel and i see using them Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 15 Years, 7 days/week, 24 hours/day Cleaning solution used: optifree Replaces contacts every: 2 Months Hi, I was just switched to Oasys from Acuvue 2. I went to doc for clear and colored rx. The first pair I obtained from the doctor, I put on, thought were great and then I put them in the case to try on the colored ones. the next day, I opened up the case, the lens stuck to the try on colored contact and then ripped as I tried to pry them apart. I am 34 and have been wearing contacts since 9th grade so I think I can say I would know how to gently pull them apart. Or, why should they have even stuck together in the first place when there was plenty solution is beyond me. Anyway, so I went back and obtained another pair. (I dont want to commit to 4-8 boxes until I am sure). I have been wearing these two days and I am already seeing fuzzy, having to blink to "reclear" them, seeing floatees, etc. I am not sure what is going on, but I am rather thinking about them more than I have to while wearing them....isn't the idea that you are suppose to "forget they are there?" Anyway, I am givig it one more day and then I think I will go back to Acuvue 2's.
2/28/10 by Suz: "Most comfortable I've used in 25 years"Pros: very improved dry eyes Cons: I don't have any cons Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 3 Months, 7 days/week, 24 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Alcon Replenish Replaces contacts every: n/a These are the most comfortable I've ever had. I've worn them two straight weeks and I've worn them for a month by cleaning overnight once every 3-4 days. .
2/27/10 by jasmine: "Dry Eyes / Uncomfortable"Pros: feel good initially Cons: dry eyes / dry skin on eyelids Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 2 Months, 7 days/week, 16 hours/day Replaces contacts every: 21 Days After wearing these contacts for about seven days, I developed this weird, extremely dry skin on my eyelids. At first I thought it was just the cold winter weather, but after about 14 days I had to replace them because they were dry and hurt my eyes. I put a pair of my old contacts, which I still had a few pairs left. The problems cleared up. After 3-4 weeks, those needed replaced, so I put in another pair of the Oasys. The same problems returned, but worse. I had my eye doctor switch me into a completely different brand. Do not recommend these.
2/25/10 by Mel: "Confortable when used and clean correctly"Pros: UV safe, comfortable, easy to apply, soft and durable. Cons: after 14 to 16 hours, of course it gets dry. Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 2 Months, 7 days/week, 14 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Optifresh Replaces contacts every: 14 Days I just started using this contact lens two months ago. I feel the difference from my previous contact lens, which in fact, daily disposables that are comfortable. After cleaning and storing them properly every night, it feels like new everyday. I am careful enough that it does not tear until the end of two weeks. After 16 hours, no contact lens stays moist, I think. So I do not complain when at the end of the day, I feel the dryness in my eyes. It is a good product.
2/20/10 by Riley: "Can't Believe These Other Reviews Are So Terrible"Pros: Never fold on me Cons: Can't think of any Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 3 Years, 7 days/week, 10 hours/day Replaces contacts every: 35 Days I had stopped wearing contacts for a number of years, because I had ended up in the emergency room with contacts folded up and stuck to the back of my eye. During one of the events, I also scratched up my cornea pretty badly. But I enjoy a number of outdoor sports and contacts just come in handy, so I thought I would try again. My eye doctor recommended this brand; they have worked great for me. I run and swim nearly everyday. I wear them all day, every day. They don't fold up on me. They keep their shape. I have never had one tear. I am very happy with these contacts.
2/17/10 by A in missoula: "These are not worth the money!"Pros: Hydrate slightly better than cheapo brand contacts Cons: wear out twice as fast as cheaper contacts, Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 2 Months, 4 days/week, 12 hours/day Replaces contacts every: 21 Days I purchased these contacts at the recommendation of a woman I work with that had been wearing them for 1 week. We both have dry eyes and she raved about how these lenses lessened that problem. Well, we both found out, me after purchasing 3 VERY expensive boxes, and she after 2 1/2 weeks of wear, that these lenses are VERY flimsy. They tear and wear out twice as fast as generic contacts. In addition to the durability issue is the fact that these contacts bother my eyes after about hour 8-9 or so. Save the money, go generic contacts and get some good eye drops. In this dry climate, I had about the same results with the eye drop method as I do with these contacts.
2/10/10 by cinlight: "Worst contacts ever"Pros: cheap if you dont consider how much you need t oreplace Cons: tear every couple of days worst quality Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 6 Years, 5 days/week, 6 hours/day Cleaning solution used: CVS a normal solution and a cleaner Replaces contacts every: 5 Days these are very costly when you look at you have to keep getting 6 mos supplies every 2 months I hate them and calling opt today to get him to rewrite me for something more economical. they feel fine but are so cheap they tear and that hurts horribly

2/04/10 by HATEOASYS: "Worst Contacts EVER"Pros: NONE Cons: EVERYTHING Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Month, 7 days/week, 16 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Target Brand Replaces contacts every: 1 Month I can't think of anything good to say about these lenses at all. I agree with all of these reviews. I wish I had read these reviews prior to buying two boxes. I have been wearing contacts for 15 years and never had any problems. I am getting a nasty gunk building up in my eye. The gunk builds up on the lenses and clouds my vision. Like other users reported, they wear out very quickly. I am suspicious eye doctor's are getting kick backs for pedaling these things. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!
2/03/10 by BeckyG: "Blurred Vision..I thought contacts are supposed to fix that?"Pros: Nil. Cons: 'Sleep'/gunk in eye; blurred vision. Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 4 Months, 7 days/week, 17 hours/day Replaces contacts every: 14 Days Like some of the reviews I've read, my optometrist too told me that these would be better than the old Acuvues I've worn for years. I thought it was just an issue I'm having, but clearly not. My contacts blur up around lunch time, which isn't helpful when trying to read at work! It's almost not worth wearing them when they get like that. Today I even cleaned them with solution twice at worked - the clearness lasted briefly, before the fogginess came back. If I have a nap, or leave the contacts in overnight, I wake up with this icky 'sleep' or gunk - so bad that my eyelashes are sometimes almost stuck together. Unfortunately I bought a year's supply, not sure if I can get a refund.
2/01/10 by Jennifer: "Expensive, overrated contacts"Pros: None Cons: Expensive, burn, go bad fast Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Month, 7 days/week, 18 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Equate Multi-Purpose Solution Replaces contacts every: 14 Days My eye doctor had me try these contacts as a trial, and I HATED these contacts! They are supposed to last 14 days if you take them out every night or 7 days if you want to sleep in them overnight. Well, let me tell you, you will not sleep in these contacts for more than 1 night because they hurt like heck! Even taking them out every night didn't help. They would be OK for a few hours, and then they would start burning and my eyes would turn red. To top it off, these are some of the most expensive contacts on the market - $25.95 a box with only 6 lenses per box. If you are lucky enough to make the six lenses last an entire month, then that means you would basically spend over $300 a year all together for contacts that aren't even that great. Going back to the eye doctor to try something else (cheaper and more comfortable) now because these aren't going to work. I swear, there are so many contacts on the market and so many of them are lousy - I've already tried 4 different types so far. I wouldn't be going through all of this if they hadn't stopped making the ones I had worn for years :(
1/28/10 by Pri: "HORRIBLE!"Pros: Good vision in the beginning, but not worth the cons Cons: Red, watery, itchy eyes, very very dry, goopy in the morning Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 2 Years, 7 days/week, 12 hours/day Cleaning solution used: OptiFree Replaces contacts every: 1 Month The first month was okay. Then, I began noticing that the one in my left eye wouldn't sit on the iris properly ... so I changed into a fresh pair. Initially, the vision was great. However, within a few months of wearing them, my eyes would start turning a bright red, begin to water and itch, often within just four hours of wearing them. I've never had problems with any other contacts, and before switching to these, I was wearing yearly contacts, which I would wear every day, upto 12 hours per day, with absolutely no problem whatsoever - until I used them past their prime and got some sort of eye infection (which lasted only about two days or so and not severe). However, the acuvue oasys lenses are JUST BAD BAD BAD all around. Ugh - my eyes were horribly dry, even after weeks of not wearing contacts at all. Now I'm on the hunt for a good pair of monthly contacts - acuvue Ouasys NEVER AGAIN!!

Switched out 8 months ago by my eye Doctor (quack) Have sinced switched. Initial wearing was Okay not measurablly better than the Accuvue 2. 1/23/10 by kayla: "relieved to see so many other bad reviews"Pros: none Cons: expensive and uncomfortable Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 25 Years, 7 days/week, 12 hours/day Replaces contacts every: 15 Days I've used Acuvue for many years and have not had problems. My doc switched me to these a few months ago swearing they're the most comfortable lenses ever. Well, they're the most uncomfortable ones I've ever worn. They seem to pick up every single speck of dirt, dust, or eye goop and constantly have a film I can't remove. They dry out quickly and leave me with a headache from squinting. The film makes them blurry and blinking and squinting to clear them gives me a headache. I put in a fresh pair less than 24 hours ago and they are no better. I can't wait to get back to my old Acuvues. I was starting to think there was something wrong w/me or my eyes, until I found these reviews.
1/20/10 by Reviewerz: "Blurry Vision and Dry Eyes"Pros: Easy to Apply to Eye Cons: Blurred Vision; Dry Out Quickly Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Year, 7 days/week, 8 hours/day Replaces contacts every: 10 Days The Acuvue Oasys contact lenses are absolutely the worst I have ever tried. I changed from Acuvue 2 (II) to the Oasys because I was told they would be better for people who spend a great deal of time on the computer. But these lenses dry out very, very quickly in the eyes, create discomfort, create headaches, and result in horrid, blurred vision. I do not recommend them.

I thought something was wrong with the first couple of boxes I purchased. My eyes were blurry, itcy and red. I tried and took them out and wore my glasses. I would wake up with green eye goop in my eyes and my eyes would itch all day.I can barely see out of them, because my vision is blurred. These are some expensive contacts. I will never purchase these again. I am going to go back to Acuvue 2. Please do not buy this product!!!!!!!
12/01/09 by Maria, Tampa Bay: "Oasys ARE HORRIBLE... Please read."Pros: Comfortable for the first week... Cons: So many to list. Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 0 Year, 7 days/week, 15 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Opti Free Replaces contacts every: 21 Days I am a 10 Year contact leans wearer. I am a single working woman employed in the administration of a steel company, so no I do not work for the competitors. My Dr. told me these would help with my eye dryness and when I did put them in initially, they felt great. We didn't even make a follow up appointment. My Vision Works Dr. wrote me a perscription and sent me on my way. So I went to Walmart and ordered 4 boxes (6 months). I went through 2 boxes (one for each eye) in one week! I was traveling abroad and thought to myself, well maybe they don't do well in the bitter cold, or maybe it is because I am in heated buildings. My contacts would blur like a foggy window and no amount of solution or rubbing would clear them. So I ended up wearing my old glasses on my vacation. NOT IDEAL. I wash my hands very regularly and scrub them before I put in my contacts EVERY morning. Even with my no rub solution, I still try and rub my contacts clean. When I got back from my trip, and after going through 2 boxes in a week I called Walmart. This was getting expensive! They said they would exchange them for new boxes. Walmart has the BEST customer service! I thought those were just defective. Now I have 4 brand new boxes. Today I opened up my first new pair and not even 6 hours later I am having the foggy thing happen again! It is very frustrating to not be able to see out of a brand new pair of contact lenses. My eyes have been very itchy/watery and red as well but I thought it could be seasonal allergies. After reading these other reviews I think it is from this material. I'm going to go back to Walmart with my new perscription to see if they will take back all 4 boxes (including the 2 used contacts) and let me fill the Acuvue with Hydra Clear RX instead. The only Issue I had with those were they did try out a little. But that I can handle. I just hope I have no serious or long term issues. This is a royal pain in the tush!
11/23/09 by DanieSoreEyes: "Allergic Reaction / no warning!"Pros: none Cons: Itchy eyes, redness, reactions, pain, watering, swelling Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Year, 5 days/week, 8 hours/day Replaces contacts every: 21 Days I was put on these because I have severe allergies and supposedly they would help with keeping my eyes moist and not drying out. After a few months, I couldn't wear them anymore because they were causing me such horrible problems with watering and vision, I had to call into work all the time. I couldn't drive, see, and going out in the sun was painful. I tried allergy eyedrops, tons of medicine, than discovered I, like thousands of other people, am allergic to the hydraclear in them. I had no warning, the eye doctor thought I was crazy, and eventually I had to just change doctors and go back to Acuvue 2. Now my eyes are fine and back to normal. Took several months to get back to normal though. BE AWARE. If you have allergies, DO NOT use Oasys!!
11/14/09 by Bre: "They work great for me"Pros: Can wear em all day without having to re-wet them Cons: dont have any cons Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Year, 7 days/week, 13 hours/day Cleaning solution used: opti free replinish Replaces contacts every: 2 Months I'm not really sure why there are so many bad reviews on here. These contacts do exactly what they say. I put my contact in in the morning and dont think about them until i take them out at night. Unlike the acuvue 2 i wore back in high school i never have to carry contact solution around because they never dry out. I still haven't tested out sleeping in them because that memory of the acuvue 2's sticking to my eye ball is still fresh in my mind. If your experiencing "goopy" eyes its probably because your allergic to what in these contacts.

Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Month, 6 days/week, 8 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Replenish Replaces contacts every: 1 Month It looks like I am a lucky patient. I actually forgot my one week appointment to check the comfort and vision on these lenses. One-two days after the missed appointment my eyes started getting goopy and burning. My vision seemed to be deteriorating. I kept wearing the lenses thinking maybe I got an infection or allergies were really bad. Yesterday I put them on and my vision was so bad and my eyes felt so irritated. I wondered if it could be the lenses and googled the question. Bingo! I am 51 and have been wearing contact lenses since I was 12 years old. I have never had an eye infection that I knew about. I have also never worn a lense this uncomfortable after one week. I just left a message with my doctor that missing that appointment was great luck and find another lense for me!

I'VE WORN CONTACTS SINCE I WAS 13,AND ACTUALLY THE ORIGINAL ACUVUE SINCE 1992 AND NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH THEM, BUT MY DOCTOR FELT THE OASYSIS WOULD BE BETTER..... DON'T GET THEM!!! WASTE OF MONEY AND MORE EYE PROBLEMS! I SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO THE REVIEWS A YEAR AGO WHEN I STARTED NOTICING TROUBLE. WOULD RECOMMEND THE ACUVUE ORIGINAL (IF YOU CAN GET THEM), AND ACUVUE 2!

I too would carry my glasses around just in case i couldn't take it anymore and my glasses are not even my most up to date prescription! I have been wearing Focus Night and Days for years and my Dr gave me a trial pair of these. I don't think they tested these on a test group of people or i don't even think they would have been released...that's how bad! My eye make up was off from me constantly rubbing my eyes for how dry they were! If you think they are good it is prob bc you have never been exposed to good contacts. Avoid Johnson Johnson and go to Ciba brand.

These are awful. They made my eyes dry and hurt to the point where I would walk with my glasses in case I couldn't stand them anymore. Thankfully I only bought one box so I can switch to a different kind. Also, it doesnt make sense that there is only 38% water in these and other older Acuvues are 47% h2o and more.
10/19/09 by al11: "Not sure what everyone is complaining about"Pros: Incredibly comfortable Cons: Ocassionally blurry vision Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Month, 7 days/week, 15 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Bausch & Lomb Replaces contacts every: 14 Days I was shocked to see all the negative reviews. About a month ago I switched from the Acuvue 2 lenses to Oasys. The Oasys are by far superior to Acuvue 2 in every way. In the past I often had problems with the Acuvue 2 lenses because they would be uncomfortable and dry out over the day. Also, they often would not last the full 2 weeks they were supposed to because they would tear. Not so with the Oasys. They are very comfortable and durable. My only complaint is that I occasionally experience blurry vision with them if they are left in for too long, but this would happen with the 2's as well, except they'd be a lot more uncomfortable. So, no big deal. No "eye goop" or infections here. My guess is that most of the people who have had problems with these contacts either don't clean the contacts themselves correctly or don't clean their eyes correctly.
10/14/09 by SB: "STAY AWAY "Pros: NONE Cons: everything Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 6 Years, 7 days/week, 12 hours/day Replaces contacts every: 1 Month Please do not buy these contacts. I know some people think they are wonderful but considering the risk of a bad reaction to them it is so not worth it. Like a lot of others, i've been wearing contacts for ten years. I switched from Acuvue 2 to Oasys about 6 months ago. They were fine until 3 months ago I woke up and suddenly could not stand to walk outside because my eyes were so sensitive to light. 3 months and about 15 doctors later, I finally realized by searching online (and without the help of those many doctors) that the contacts were the cause. They have honestly lowered my quality of life these past months and I can only hope no permanent damage has been done. Stay away from them!
10/13/09 by Kristine Hemler: "SAVE YOURSELF MISERY"Pros: ABSOLUTELY NONE (EYESIGHT SAME AS OTHER CONTACTS) Cons: WORST PAIN EVER Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 3 Months, 7 days/week, 15 hours/day Cleaning solution used: BAUSCH & LAUM? OPTI-FREE Replaces contacts every: 14 Days I have been wearing contacts for 21 years. I have worn hard contacts as well as several brands of soft contacts. A new eye doctor I went to gave me these to try. There were no problems in the first initial weeks of trying them, so I bought a year's worth. After about two months my eyes began getting VERY large amounts of goop (there is no better word for it). They became horribly irritated to the point of searing pain and I had to constantly wipe the discharge from my eyes. After taking them out and wearing my glasses for a month, I put in a fresh pair only to begin having the same problems immediately. I have never had a single problem in 21 years with any of the contacts I have ever worn. These need to be recalled. In regard to the few obviously bogus good reviews (and several by the same person), I would like to say my name is Kristine Hemler and I would NEVER recommend these contacts. Any other contacts would be a good choice (see I'm not bought by anyone).
10/12/09 by Alex: "Crappiest contacts ever"Pros: none Cons: everything Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 6 Months, 7 days/week, 24 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Replenish Replaces contacts every: 1 Month Goopy discharge, red eyes, expensive and I just stuck it out for six months. These are by far the worst contacts I have ever worn. I changed from regular Night and Day from Ciba vision and then everything went worse I am going to try a different brand.
9/29/09 by Bobby: "WORST.. CONTACTS.. EVER!!"Pros: none Cons: stick to your eye, give you infections, blurry vis, dry eyes Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Year, 2 days/week, 8 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Opti Free Replenish Replaces contacts every: 1 Month I've worn contacts for 12 years now and never had complaints about any of them until now. For the first couple of months they were okay. Then I started getting dry eyes all the time and always using moisturizing drops, but my eyes still kept getting red so I wore the contacts less and less, switching to glasses instead. Now I'm on antibiotics for an eye infection, experienced loss of vision, and my stupid optometrist pretends the contacts couldn't have possibly been the problem! Beware because the doctors are paid commissions to sell these inferior lenses to as many people as they can, so they will never tell you the truth.
9/20/09 by Lorelei: "If Your Thinking About It, JUST DON'T"Pros: comfortable for about a day and a half Cons: horrible red eyes/reaction Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 0 Year, 7 days/week, 14 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Optifree; Aquify Replaces contacts every: 30 Days Like many other reviewers, I've been wearing contacts for over 20 years. I wore Acuvue Advanced for at least 8 years and LOVED them. But for some reason that I now regret, I thought these lenses would be better for my eyes because of the claim that they "allow more oxygen" to the cornea. Well, that may be true, but I've only been wearing these things for just over 2 days, and while they were comfortable at first, I started noticing that my eyelids felt a little itchy and irritated. Tonight I took out my lenses (as I do every night) and woke up 3 hours later (it's now almost 2 am) with red, irritated, itchy eyes and eye lids. Yes, that's correct, the lenses weren't even in my eyes, but it's clear to me that they are the problem. It's now Sunday, I don't have an up to date pair of glasses (just some crappy ones from like 4 years ago) and there is no way in Hell I'm putting those lenses back in my eyes. I might add that I'm not allergic to anything else except these $#@%^ lenses. I just hope I caught it in time so that I don't end up permanently screwed. Don't even think about trying these lenses.

Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Month, 5 days/week, 12 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Clear Care Replaces contacts every: 14 Days I started trying out the acuvue oasys less than a week ago. At first, they seemed to be more comfortable, and I was generally happy. Last night however, I accidentally fell asleep without taking them out. I woke up at 3am to extreme pain mainly in my right eye. Upon examination, my eyes were both severely bloodshot (more so in my right eye). My eyes were also full of discharge. After removing the contacts, my eyes continued to weep and hurt. It has been 5 hours and my eyes are just now starting to feel better, and the redness is gradually going away. I am a pilot, and because of this I was unable to work today. I am NOT happy! 8/18/09 by Billy M.: "Please do not buy this product"Pros: none Cons: potential loss of vision Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Month, 7 days/week, 12 hours/day Cleaning solution used: optifree Replaces contacts every: 1 Month Like most others I started with daily's, moved on to acuvue 2 weeks, and after many many years with zero problems despite less than average eye care, admittedly, i was advised by my doctor to try oasys because they allow more oxygen and i had slight redness in my eyes. i tried the oasys and after 3 weeks called my doc and told her i liked the acuvue 2's better so i will be sticking with them. well when i put in my old brand i loved for so many years, within 2 hours i had so much irritation and dryness that i had to take them out. i have never felt this kind of pain and dryness. i haven't been able to wear a contact in 2 days and i am on vacation with no glasses. i have been getting by on eye drops just to cope with the pain. like everyone else, there is massive amounts of goo building up in the corners of my eyes, flakes around my eyes, sensitivity to light, pain and discomfort under the lower lashes, and a throbbing headache. go ahead and try these lenses if you are dumb enough to think this isn't a real review. why would i lie about acuvue oasys if i just told you how incredible acuvue 2 weeks are? they are both made by johnson and johnson. trust me you mess with these lenses you will be exactly where i am right now. unfortunately i wasn't as smart as you as to actually read up on a product before trusting a doctor with my eyesight. it's my own fault, please don't make the same mistake i did.
8/12/09 by Contact Lens Wearer: "Constant Eye Infections"Pros: Comfortable Cons: Eye infections, red eyes Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 3 Months, 7 days/week, 9 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Opti-free Replaces contacts every: 14 Days My eye doctor insisted I try the Acuvue Oasys after several years of wearing Acuvue Advance and Acuvue 2 lenses. He insisted they breathe better than other contacts, so I gave them a shot. The first trial pair was fine, which I wore for about two weeks. So I ordered 4 boxes of the Oasys, but after my third week I woke up with bright red eyes and an eye infection. My eye doctor suggested I wear glasses for two weeks and then start wearing Acuvue one a day lenses. The on a days were great, and I had no problem for three months. Then the eye doctor said I could go back onto the Oasys. Big mistake. Once again, the first set was fine for about two weeks. Then I put in a second set of the Oasys and wake up with red eyes. I have returned all of my Oasys lenses and will have to buy the expensive Acuvue one a days, because that's all I can wear after the problems I've had with Oasys. I would also like to point out that my eye doctor mentioned he has had a significant number of people with similar problems with Oasys, but that the Acuvue representatives are still pushing him hard to sell them. I would not recommend this product to anyone.
8/10/09 by M@rK M@rSh@LL: "Regular Oasys OK for me but Bifocal one's suck ape ass!!!"Pros: Regular ones are clear & comfortable Cons: Bifocal ones are blurry & hurt after a few hours Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Month, 7 days/week, 10 hours/day Cleaning solution used: optifree Replaces contacts every: 14 Days The regular Oasys lenses are more comfortable than the Bifocal version. Also the bifocal version is nowhere near as clear at longer distances. I can't stand them hurting after a few hours in my eyes & there is no way I would recommend them for driving. They should get sued for putting out such a piece of shit lense that probably does damage people's eyes. I'm glad I only got the trial pair of bifocals & one box for each eye of the regular ones. I feel sorry for anyone that got talked into a year supply of either of these. A RECALL SHOULD BE IN ORDER! I'm going back to my ACUVUE II's immediately!

So I ordered a couple of boxes. I did start noticing however, that I was waking up with crusty eyes every morning. After a week in my 2nd pair, I cleaned them and a few days later one felt like it had a film on it. So I had to take it out at work and clean it, very annoying. Then two days later I had to clean them again because they felt filmy again and I couldn't keep my vision clear. They are comfortable other than that. I can't feel them in my eyes and my vision is fine. I was using Acuvue 2's though and they are better considering the price and I never had any problems with them.

At first it was just a normal contact for a month or so- until i started getting blurred vision, mucus discharge a few times a day gooing from my eye (very embarrassing), pressure and great eye strain and head aches... Eventually i went back to my eye doctor and they said i just randomly contracted a alergic reaction to contacts and i have GPC and that i should get lazik. WTF i go to another eye doctor and they all give me the same rap- but thank god for the internet because google it and see for yourself. I also share this story with one of my good friends, SAME EXACT STORY- then i run into my childhood friend and he said the SAME STORY; then i dated a girl and she told me... THE SAME STORY!!!! for the love of god, do not try these contacts. Now i cant even wear normal contacts without my new gpc disease flaring up. JUST THINK OF IT THIS WAY- IM NOT SPONSORED BY JOHNSON & JOHNSON, SO WHO WOULD YOU RATHER LISTEN TO?

Read on to see how"Pros: everything Cons: nothing Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Month, 5 days/week, 12 hours/day Replaces contacts every: 14 Days If you go to Bing.com, lookup visiondirect and click on "bing cashback". Then you either sign in or create an account. Once you are on the visiondirect website (through bing.com only), and after you fill your cart with 8 boxes Acuvue Oasys, you automatically get $20 off your order. Then use code "SEECLEAR" for another 10% off. Then fill out the rebate form on the acuvue website for $100 off a first time order or $30 off for repeat buyers. And if you went to visiondirect through Bing.com, you'll get another 10% off ($21). All in all, I payed $60 for 8 boxes of Acuvue Oasys. Thats only $7.50 per box! You can't beat that!! I don't know how long this deal will last but I believe the rebate is only good until December 09.
7/13/09 by Angelica: "Hmmm, whats up with all the bad reviews?"Pros: Stays moist, comfortable, no more dry eyes Cons: none so far Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Month, 5 days/week, 11 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Allergan Complete Replaces contacts every: 14 Days I just figured out that O2 optix is the competition which is why you see both of these have the most reviews and they are either "love" or "hate" reviews. I'd love to know how many of the reviews are legit. It sucks because people come looking for honest opinions and instead get fake reviews. You'll just have to try the lens for yourself, get a free sample from your dr.

As you can see, the reviews are either love or hate. Not sure how Acuvue Oasys managed to get 155 reviews and the regular Acuvue which came out first and years ago only got a few? Like someone else mentioned, they are wondering if the competition has anything to do with all these negative reviews. Anyway, I don't see anything wrong with these lenses. They do what they are supposed to do.

I wore them for about 6 months (take them out every night, occasional cat naps in them) before they hurt my eyes and i could barely see out of them. They also cracked a little around the rim. Overall I would have rated this experience a 10/10 since they should have only lasted 2 weeks. Second, I went to the doctor to get my own sample pair. They last for 3 months before they got a little tear and started hurting my eye. once again 10/10 Third, I finally cracked and bought a year supply. After one week (and sleeping in them for one night) the one from my left eye perpetually looks like I just breathed fog onto it. It dries out extremely fast and is really annoying. Not sure what is up with that. this time i rate my experience 4/10 I think that maybe you cant sleep in them (even tho they say you can) and also you need to keep your eyes really moist (try supplements like lutein, fish oil, or re-wetting drops) jury is still out on these but I am pretty ticked about my latest exoerience only lasting a week!

I am kicking myself now for not just getting a sample pack, I am stuck with a year supply. I've been wearing contacts for over a decade, and I've never been able to feel contacts in my eyes before. Now I can feel them moving around, they feel like they're going to fall out all the time, my vision is blurry. It's terrible.

At my last eye appt, my doctor told me about Oasys and gave me a sample pair to try. They picked and burned my eyes constantly. I thought it was my allergies or just me being tired. I wore glasses for a few days to give my eyes a break and tried them again and still the same thing. I don't know if it is the thickness of them or what, but they were so uncomfortable. Needless to say, I ordered my Acuvue 2 and couldn't be happier - my eyes are back to normal! I'm glad I'm not the only one here who didn't like Oasys!
6/12/09 by JamaicanBacon: "Awful"Pros: NONE Cons: Dry, worse contacts I've ever worn Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Month, 7 days/week, 14 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Opti Replenish Replaces contacts every: n/a I've been wearing contacts since for the past 12 years. I have gone from the regular acuvue to freshlooks and then to Acuvue 2. I went to the doc a week ago and he suggested I try the Oasys. I thought they would be the best contacts I've ever tried but boy was I wrong! The first day, the contacts were perfect. I take my contacts out every single night and wash them. I put them in Monday morning and I couldn't see a darn thing. The contacts are blurry; I constantly feel as if I have something in my eye and they are THE WORST. I'm going back to the doctor tomorrow cuz this isn't working out for me at all. I wouldn't recommend these contacts to anyone. And they seem so thick...just doesn't seem healthy. I honestly think I'm going back to my Acuvue 2s. They're cheaper and I can actually see with no discomfort. I've tried washing them... eye drops...NOTHING is working. Can't wait to get rid of them.

As a beginner I had some difficulty at first and these are so comfortable that I really thought they had fallen out because I could not feel anything in my eye and there was no dryness. Actually I never took the lens out probably was too squeamish that first night without the optician there supervising and I slept in them and wore them three days before I realized my eyes felt funny. I tried a couple others and these are still most comfortable for all day wear. They do have a tendency to fold over on themselves and get lost under your eye lid causing a number of wearers panic but mine worked their way out in three days!

Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Month, 7 days/week, 10 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Renu multi purpose Replaces contacts every: 14 Days Yes I can see with the contact in my eye but Acuvue II is far superior in comfort. My doctor tried to tell me that the Oasys made more sense but I'm almost positive now that the Accuvue reps must be giving the doctors great incentives because after speaking to several people, everyone agrees this contact is for the birds. Its very uncomfortable, dry and contstantly gets stuck above the eye lid. I have been wearing contacts for over 10 years and I would never recommend this to a friend.

I have heard from many optometrists that it does depend what cleaning solution you use with this lens as that does make some difference.

They are very comfortable on my eye and never make my eyes feel dry. They are also very flexable, which makes them easy to be put in and out. One thing that isn't the great is the price, I have had another pair of contacts also by acuvue that are very similar and almost feel the same. So, I believe they should be the same price. Otherwise, I would recomend this to someone who has a few extra dollars in their wallet.

I have been using Softlens 38 for the last 7+ years and loved them. I went to a new eye doctor this last eye exam and he wanted to put me in the Oasys because he claimed they are better/breathable material. Well they also tear constantly. I have been through 3 pairs already, with 2 of the contacts only lasting a few days before I notice a tear or a piece taken out of the side. I put them in this morning, they were fine. When I got to work the left eye started hurting, so I took it out and noticed a big chunk taken out of the side! How did that manage to happen on my way to work! These are terrible! I am asking my doctor to go back to the Softlens 38. I can't take these anymore.

I just reordered. They are absolutely great. I don't feel them in my eye! I have worn lenses for 6-7 years and these are the most comfortable ones thus far. However, I don't wear contacts on a daily basis, I wear them generally if I wanna go out or on very hot/very cold days when glasses are a pain. I have napped/slept in them with varying results, generally I prefer not to sleep with contacts on(unless it's inconvenient for me to take them off). I have noticed that I don't have the "AH!"(relief) feeling when I take em off, which means they are not constricting my eyes. Like someone suggested, please rub when cleaning even if it says not to. I've used all sorts of solutions, with no problem(although this clearcare thing sounds awesome!). I leave em in solution for weeks, and they are fine when I wear them. They are very fragile, but I have never had them tear on me. One problem I've always had and continue to have is I can't wear contacts when i'm low on sleep, it makes me eyes hurt a lot. I make sure I've had at least 5 hours. I think so many bad reviews are due to allergic reactions to the silicone. Also when you take yous lenses off try rinsing your eyes with this thing called ocufresh, it cleans out any bacteria/dirt before it becomes a problem. You can find it at most pharmacies. I have not had any light sensitivity or blurred vision.

My eye was extremely red and felt like it had something in it all of the time even when my contacts were not in. I went to the eye doctor about 8 times over the period of a month before my eye cleared up. I didn't wear contacts for about 5 months because the infection was so painful and I was extremely sensitive to light during and after the month I had the infection. I recently started wearing them again (about 2 months ago) and I have already had 2 eye infections even though I don't sleep in my contacts. I will change brands after reading that other people have experienced the same problems that I have.
4/26/09 by Goop eye: "HORRIBLE"Pros: none Cons: irritation, protein buildup, Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 6 Years, 7 days/week, 12 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Opti-Free Replaces contacts every: n/a I've been wearing contact lenses for 10 years. I have never had any problems with my eyes until I began wearing Acuvue Oasys contacts. I've been using this brand for 6 months and gave it a fair shot but I've had enough. I've had all of the problems people have been mentioning here, extreme pain, redness, dry eyes, excessive protein buildup, goop eye. I hate these contacts, they are absolutely horrible. Don't buy them, they are a waste of money and you end up having to throw them out far sooner than you are supposed to.
4/24/09 by Glimpse: "Retraction"Pros: clear, comfortable, weightless Cons: very little to none Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 7 Years, 7 days/week, 12 hours/day Replaces contacts every: 14 Days I reviewed these contacts sometime back at the beginning of January of 09 claiming they were terrible contacts. Since then my optomitrist has given me a hydrogen peroxide solution with this funky case to clean my lenses with every night, and the results have been astonishing. The lenses do have sit in the solution for a minimum of 6 hours, but once pulled out, they are almost better than a new pair. I do not know why this type of solution makes this much of a difference, but it does. Absolutely remarkable. If i were to soak my lenses in a multiuse solution for two nights in a row, the difference is so evident as I regain the same problems I had prior to switching solutions. If you are having any problems with these lenses, I definitly recommend switiching to a more expensive hydrogen peroxide solution before completely writing off these lenses altogether.
4/22/09 by Peter: "You gotta rub them."Pros: Comfortable. Great vision. Cons: expensive Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Month, 7 days/week, 17 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Renu Multi No rub Replaces contacts every: n/a First couple of days using these things i was not very impressed. My eyes hurt and irritated all day long. I started wearing contacts when "no-rub" contact solution came on the market and i have never done the rubbing process to clean my contacts until now. Give your contacts the gentle rub that the bottle of 'no-rub' contact solution says in the instructions. i bet this might help at least some of you.
3/30/09 by ATL: "Alright "Pros: At first they are comfortable Cons: Extremely red eyes, light sensitivity after removing contact Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 2 Years, 7 days/week, 7 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Opti-Free Replaces contacts every: 14 Days I have used the Oasis for about 2 years now and for the first few months they were absolutely fabulous! Right as pollen season started i began to have really red eyes after only wearing the contacts for 2-3 hours. I concluded that the redness was due to the pollen but after reading the other reviews i guess not! I guess it really depends on your eyes but i personally wouldnt recommend these!
3/23/09 by suni: "These things are expensive, rip easily and irritate the eyes"Pros: Thin lens, comfortable...to begin with Cons: Expensive, irritates eyes, rips easily Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 3 Years, 7 days/week, 12 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Opti Free Replenish Replaces contacts every: n/a It's crazy to know that there's plenty of Acuvue Oasys wearers experiencing the same problems as others. I have been wearing these contacts for probably about 3 years now, I was previously using the Advanced and those were aweful too, didn't retain moisture etc. These contacts are TERRIBLE! At first I absolutely loved them. They are 2 week lenses and I go through these so quickly to where a contact lens has torn in a matter of days! I am so good about ensuring I clean my lenses and look after them as you're supposed to, and i've never been so disappointed. At first I was really happy with them but as time's gone by the lenses don't last anywhere near 2 weeks. They are extremely expensive and protein builds up on them really quickly, which again is easy to remove if you take care of your lenses. I noticed a lot of people mentioning sensitivity to light, I have noticed this also. Another thing is that these lenses have torn in my eyes causing great discomfort and irritation. All in all I would not recommend, most people get them because they're a bigger more popular brand but that doesn't mean they're any better. And in this case they're definitely not!
3/12/09 by Julie: "Uncomfortable and Itchy"Pros: Better for astigmatism Cons: Super uncomfortable Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 0 Year, 5 days/week, 16 hours/day Cleaning solution used: OptiFree Replenish Replaces contacts every: 14 Days Contact wearer since 2005, wore Acuvue Advanced. I spent majority of my day at a computer screen and have dry eyes so doc wanted me to have the most moisture-flow possible and tried me on these for a week. My eye with a strong astigmatism was okay, the contact didn't move too much. The other eye was bad as I could constantly feel the lense moving and gave me very blurred vision. They dried out quickly and my eyes felt crazy itchy the entire time I wore them, and after a few days I couldn't stand it. Switched back to the Advanced.
3/09/09 by jaki: "Damages your eyes - I'm thinking of suing"Pros: You can see Cons: Eye damage Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Year, 7 days/week, 12 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Clear Care Replaces contacts every: 14 Days I've been wearing contacts for over 20 years now. I NEVER had a problem with any lens. Until my doctor convinced me I should wear the Oasys lenses. Immediately, I had problems. But I figured it was just the time of year. I wish I would have switched. Now that I think about it my optometrist was trying hard to get me to wear the Oasys because you have to replace them more frequently than any other lens of this same category. Now, my eyes are bloodshot ALL they time, they are ALWAYS dry, they hurt and I really can't wear contacts. I am writing this review with the hopes that I can help prevent someone else from experiencing what I am. Buyer beware: these are your EYES. Do your research and I am certain you will NEVER want to buy these contacts EVER.

3/03/09 by Peachyness: "Add me to the dissapointed list"Pros: none Cons: blurry or double vision Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Month, 5 days/week, 12 hours/day Replaces contacts every: n/a I had been on Acuvue 2 for about 8 years. About a month ago, my eye doctor told me that Acuvue 2 was being phased out so she gave me several trial contacts. All of them were horrible, but the oaysis was the least annoying one, so I tried that one for about a month. I went to the eye dr. and complained that I have double vision due to the contacts. She concluded that it were my eyes. Yet, when I wear contacts, I don't have blurry/double vision. It's also a pain to take out. I do NOT recommend this brand! I am also very glad that I stopped after several uses before my eyes became infected!
2/24/09 by Playin_Hooky: "Best contacts I have ever had!!!"Pros: Comfortable, long lasting, no shifting easy to care for Cons: Have not found any cons Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 6 Months, 7 days/week, 17 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Opti-Free Replenish Replaces contacts every: 45 Days I have had these contacts for 6 months now. They were recommended by my eye doc because of the shape of my eye. These are the best contacts I have ever owned. I would recommend these to anyone. My daughter wants to get contacts and she has the same issues I have. I told here to go with these because they are so comfortable and easy to care for. I have worn these contacts over 48 straight hours sleeping in them twice and have had no issues. I know, not the best thing to do, but I love them and how they perform. I cannot say enough good things about them. Simply awesome!!
1/26/09 by Brad: "acuvue oasys for astigmatism"Pros: marginal comfort/vision correction Cons: Very expensive, still keep my eyes dry Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Year, 7 days/week, 12 hours/day Replaces contacts every: 21 Days I have tried for years to wear contacts without any luck. I have a far sighted astigmatism and have always worn glasses as the contacts never stayed in place, would go out of focus when i blinked and never had a sharp image. My eye Dr prescribed these. They are ok, but not great. They still get very dry and I must use drops all the time. These are also very expensive - $48 per box at walmart and $35 or so online. I started reading reviews online and had the eye Doc order me a pair of SofLens66 Toric lenses by Bausch and Lomb. These are GREAT. I put them in and literally dont feel them and dont need to use rewetting drops all day long. And these are only $25 or so a box online. I would recommend these. I think ive finally found a contact lens that works for me. Hope this helps.
1/25/09 by Queenie: "Excellent lenses"Pros: Comfortable, easy to use Cons: price Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 2 Years, 7 days/week, 24 hours/day Cleaning solution used: renu multipurpose cleanser Replaces contacts every: 14 Days Before I bought Acuvue Oasys I had been using Freshlook contacts. After a few months of Freshlooks, I completely stopped using contacts because they made my eyes feel continually tired and dry, and I felt that the overall discomfort of wearing contact lenses was not worth the trouble. My doctor recommended that I try the Oasys, and I have never looked back. They do not feel drying at all, and I don't even realize that I am wearing contacts. I even can sleep in them with no ill effects. Overall, I would say that the comfort of Acuvue Oasys is well worth the price tag.
1/23/09 by OIxygen696: "Awsome contacts.. sceptical of bad reviews.."Pros: Great comfort, can sleep in for long periods, clarity. Cons: cost..forget I have them in and to disinfect them. Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 3 Years, 7 days/week, 22 hours/day Cleaning solution used: OptiOne & OptiFree Replenish Replaces contacts every: 1 Month I have been wearing contacts for 20 years and to date these are the best ones I have worn BY FAR. I find it strange people here don't like these.. I use to wear Surevue lens's for years and liked them for there "Clarity" I got.. better than 20/20 vision. But they always had to be taken out, get gritty, very bad to sleep in and then they discontinued them a few years ago.. Acuvue Regular never gave me great vision, Acuvue 2 contacts ALWAYS popped out of my eyes because they were so darn big, Acuvue Advanced, were ok, but not great for comfort, Biometric tended to be to thin and tear easily and didn't give great clarity. I always went back to the Surevue lenses, however they were a lens that is rather thick and takes getting use to.. I think maybe people's trouble is that they don't wear the lenses enough to build the needed callus like I did when I wore Surevue, then taking them out all the time or only wearing them for 8-12 hours/day takes much longer for them to build this up.. These lenses are thicker than the Regular Acuvue & Acuvue 2 ones.. therefore more people may not like that, but if you want to see things CLEARLY, forget you have the contacts in when you go to bed and be able to see in the morning when you wake up, and if you are in front of the computer with dry eyes all the time, then you will really love these lenses.. I agree that theese are probably not for everyone, but it is absolutely imperative that you use only brand name, special solutions for these contacts like OptiFree Replenish or solution for "Silicone" contacts because if you use crappy walmart solution for these lenses they will feel terrible because those solutions are not made to be used on this type of material lens.. I am a chemist and those solutions will gradually breakdown the lenses and the surface.. this will nullify everything this lens is suppose to do, all because you chose to spend 2 dollars less on solution, when you don't even have to take these lenses out every night.. you will actually spend LESS on solution in the long run!
1/22/09 by viv: "oaysis"Pros: comfortable during the day Cons: cannot take it out of my eyes Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Month, 7 days/week, 5 hours/day Replaces contacts every: 8 Days worst contact lenses ever...because you can never ever get it out of your eye. it sticks to the eyeball so badly that it at least takes half an hour to get it out. basically until my eyes are red and my cornea is scratched. very bad product!!
1/20/09 by Dan: "Terrible Contacts!"Pros: None Cons: Everything Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 13 Years, 7 days/week, 14 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Opti-Free Replaces contacts every: 1 Month These contacts made my eyes red and blury. I had to go on an antibiotic to clear my eyes. I used to wear the acuvue torics, which were absolutely perfect!! My eye doctor said these were so much better and wouldn't believe me until I had an actual infection that these contacts were bad for my eyes. They should be taken off the market!
1/16/09 by Boo: "Great lenses"Pros: No more dry eyes (mostly) Cons: None Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Year, 7 days/week, 16 hours/day Cleaning solution used: AOSept Replaces contacts every: 2 Months These lenses have worked great for me. I only have to replace them every couple months. I use AOSept cleaning solution, so that may be why they last longer.
1/06/09 by Glimpse: "Dry eyes, blurred vision"Pros: none Cons: so many Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 3 Months, 6 days/week, 14 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Bausch & something or other for Sensitive eyes Replaces contacts every: 14 Days I have been wearing contacts for five years. I started off with Pearle Vision's standard store brand (I believe the store was called Shopper's Optical at the time) and wore them for just over a year. I then switched to the Acuvue 2's. By far most comfortable lens I have ever worn. When i went in for an eye exam and to pick up my next year's worth of lenses, my eye doctor informed me the Acuvue 2 lenses were no longer manufactured. But, this new type of lens- the Oasys lens, is this revolutionary replacement. I was told they are more comfortable to wear for longer periods of time and that they are made out of this high tech plastic something-or-other which allows oxygen to penetrate the lens. OH HELL NO! I thought, and was told by my eye doctor that the discomfort I was experiencing after the first few weeks was caused by the transition from the 2's to the Oasys's. Three months later, the discomfort has turned into outright pain. I can no longer focus on objects at a distance or up close. I am squinting at my monitor just to write this. My eyes are constantly adjusting and readjusting whenever looking at anything. This in turn makes for some pretty nasty headaches. My eyes are constatnly blood shot and dry. After speaking to my eye doctor, she is convinced that I am not changing my lenses every two weeks like she recommended, which is not the case. I did not change my Acuvue 2's every two weeks but i sure do for these. All-in-all, these are some terrible lenses.
1/05/09 by Bad New Years: "Bad way to start a New Year"Pros: Nothing Cons: Nothing Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 8 Months, 7 days/week, 16 hours/day Replaces contacts every: 15 Days I have used the Acuvue brand since I was introduced to contacts back in high school. That was well over 15 years ago now and have never ever had a problem. My doctor asked me at my annual appointment how are the Acuvue 2 working out. I let her know they are just fine. She said a new product was introduced and I should try the item as it is working well for others. The Oasys was recommend to me as the next best product. I have had this recommendation before from my doctor and had much success with upgrading. I figured Acuvue has just come out with another great product. I ordered a year supply and did not even give it another thought. On Jan. 2 2009 the beginning of a New Year made me ask questions about this new product OASYS! I woke up with a swollen red eye, it just kept watering. The worst problem was it was hard to open my eye due to sensitivity to light. I get pink eye easy and thought maybe its that time of the year. I put my glasses on for the first time every to go to work. (I Hate Glasses) Soon very very severe pain developed as I was driving to work. After the pain developed the sight in my right eye went completely blurry. My doctor check my eye he said it is not pink eye and looked for unidentified objects in my eye. Again no items found in my eye. I am now working with an eye surgeon. He asked me to read the chart one eye at a time with my glasses on and I could not read the top line. I have a dry patch on my corina. How does this happen to a healthy young women. Do not buy these Contacts. I did not do my research I trusted my doctors recommedation but seeing all these responses it is clear you must do your own research. I only hope we caught this early.
12/22/08 by tanalee: "Contact will tear"Pros: feels great in eye Cons: tears after 6 days of wear Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Month, 7 days/week, 10 hours/day Cleaning solution used: opti free replenish Replaces contacts every: 14 Days OK. so I am new to contacts. I received Acuvue Oasys from my Doctor. I put them in today for the 6th day. My eye was irritated and so I took out the contact. What do you know!! A tear in the contact. Now I see all the other reviews stating that these tear easily. Good thing I went ahead and ordered the Air Optix Aqua after all and chose not to order these. The Air Optix Aqua felt really good just like the Oasys did, but they are easier to handle. They don't fold over like the Oasys did and I wore those for one week with no tear. I just wanted to try a 2nd pair to compare the Air Optix Aqua to, and my doctor gave me the Acuvue Oasys.
12/20/08 by Nat: "Less than 2 weeks & my eyes still have sores after 3 months!"Pros: None Cons: ulcer like sores, red veins, eye pain, dry/crusty eyes Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Year, 7 days/week, 24 hours/day Replaces contacts every: 7 Days Physician told me Accuvue1 no longer on the market. Not true, J&J. I was given Oaysis. I thought these were excellent contacts, after wearing 2 pair in 7 day increments, noticed that both eyes had small hard sores on the inside of the eye &larger sores looked like they were filled with fluid on the outside (3 and 9 positions). I immediately stopped wearing. Since there was not pain at that time or sign of infection except a litte red eye I wore glasses. 3 weeks later figured I better get it checked out. Ophthamoloigst tried to tell me that my eyes are irritated due to sun and wind and the my oil glands were clogged up with white stuff. Hot compresses nightly with antibiodic and cream and fish pills were the prescription. I have been a contact wear for 30 years and have never had any problems until Oasys. Its been almost 3 months, rednessgone, I still have the sores & red veins and a bit of eye pain everyday. Cannot believe that both my eyes would have the same sores unless it was from the contacts. Not one to ever need drops now without contacts I need drops. I would be interested in knowing if there are any lawsuits out there for Oasys as I do not see where my eyes are going to get back to normal. You can contact me at nataliejuner@yahoo.com I contacted J&J after my first Opthamologist appt but they along with the dr's seem to be covering each others butts and acting like the contacts have nothing to do with my mysterious eye issues. I wouldn't put silicone in my breasts so why would I knowingly put it in my eyes!
12/03/08 by Kelli P.: "Research this product before you use"Pros: Thinner lens, allows more air into your eye Cons: Corneal ulcer resulting in scar, addtional scratch Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 5 Months, 7 days/week, 12 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Saline Solution for Sensitive Eyes Replaces contacts every: 2 Months I was switched to the Oasys from Acuvue 2 to allow more oxygen flow to my eyes. I have worn contacts for about 20 years with very few problems. In the past month I have had a corneal ulcer that resulted in a scar and now a scratch which has healed but is in my line of vision and causes a blurry spot. The eye doctor today mentioned that the Oasys has a tendency to dry out due to being a thinner lens and when removing the lens to be sure you use drops before if they feel at all dry. I have basically scratched my eye by removing my lens. Eye injuries are extremely painful! I hope my comments help someone from going through what I have the past month!
11/19/08 by Rachel: "HATE THEM!"Pros: great vision for first week Cons: Horrible burning itching and blurring every afternoon now Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Year, 7 days/week, 16 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Renu Replaces contacts every: 5 Days I have worn contacts for over 15 yrs, and Acuvue 2's for at least 5 years or so I think. I really like Acuvue 2. My doc put me in Acuvue Advance last year, but I hated them, I could always feel them in my eye. I had him put me back on Acuvue 2. I work in front of a computer, so this year, he recommended Oasys. For the first week they were great. Very clear and comfortable, but then I had to change them out quite quickly after that. It's only been a little over a month and I've already gone through 5 pairs. Every afternoon now, my eyes get unbearable. They are insanely itchy and blury and it just keeps getting worse. When I take them out, I see a film on them that I cant get off. They are driving me insane and it's only getting worse. I just called my eye doc and ordered some Acuvue 2's. Next year there is no way he's getting me to buy anything else.
11/17/08 by Shane: "Disgusting that these are still on the market."Pros: Would be good to blind an enemy. Cons: eye infection, possible permanent damage Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 6 Months, 7 days/week, 14 hours/day Cleaning solution used: First Optifree for silicon, then a peroxide based solution Replaces contacts every: 14 Days I've worn Acuvue 2 lenses for around 8 years now. I've always been very fastidious about my lenses, keeping them clean and never sleeping with them in my eyes. I'm a very responsible person, and I've never had eye health problems other than my terrible vision. I'm also studying to become an optometrist, so I know a lot of information about different lenses. Anyways, my eye doctor highly recommended these lenses. I tried them (which ended up being a huge mistake). First few months were fine. Then suddenly, photophobia and crusty eyes. I go to my doctor, who claims to not know what the problem is, and gives me Vigamox. After I'm done with the vigamox, I wear a fresh pair of lenses. Same problem, only worse. Bloodshot eyes, extreme pain,so I'm back to the doctor, who tells me not to wear them for two weeks and puts me on a steroid and vigamox again. Two weeks later, I'm back in his office, with another infection. He tells me to change my solution to clear care, which I do, and puts me back on the steroid and vigamox. Two weeks later, I'm AGAIN back in the office. He claims I'm infecting myself somehow. (I must be just so much filthier as a 20 year old sticking contacts in my eye than I was when I was 8 and putting lenses in my eyes the first time!) I'd have about had it. During those two week periods I was forced to wear my glasses, and I can't see as well with them as I do wih contacts. My grades were suffering, I couldn't drive, so I did some research. Turns out, in the studies done on these lenses, 2% of the population is allergic to the silicone. I tell a new eye doctor that I suspect that I'm allergic to the lens, and after hearing my story, he agrees, and says that he's not going to recommend them to patients that are already content with acuvue 2's or other lenses. So I'm back to my wonderful Acuvue lenses, but the bad news is, those constant eye infections caused a degeneration in my cornea, which could have potentially caused me to be BLIND if I wasn't on top of the situation. Thanks a lot, Oasys.
11/05/08 by Nikki: "Acuvue Oasys is great, but not for astigmatism"Pros: comfortable, eyes stayed moist Cons: toric lens was very uncomfortable Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Year, 7 days/week, 6 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Optifree Replaces contacts every: n/a I actually only trialed these for one week, and they were my first pair of contact lenses ever. I have an astigmatism only in my left eye, so I had a normal lens for my right eye and a toric for my left eye. The normal lens was perfect; it stayed moist and comfortable, I had clear vision, and I couldn't tell I was wearing a lens. The toric lens, however, was terrible for me. I think it simply did not fit my eye correctly. I had constant irritation underneath my eyelids from the lens, and my eye was very red. The redness and irritation resolved once I removed the lens, however. I think this was simply a case of poor fit, which is too bad, because I loved the regular Acuvue Oasys. I would recommend trying them, however, since I am sure different lenses fit different people!
10/27/08 by horzee@hotmail.com: "HORRIBLE experience!"Pros: comfortable Cons: bad allergic reaction Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Year, 7 days/week, 8 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Alcon OptiFree Replenish Replaces contacts every: 1 Month I have been a contact lens wearer for many years. I switched to the Oasys when I was experiencing a little dryness from my old contacts. That turned out to be a very bad choice. Like many reviewers, I wore them find for several days and they were very comfortable. I then began experiencing bright red eyes, intense light sensitivity, and severe pain in both eyes. I returned to wearing glasses for two weeks thinking it was seasonal allergies. After trying a brand new pair of these contacts three times, I had to be rushed in to the Emergency Room and triaged as a high priority. I was once again experiencing intense pain and visual disturbances. After several examinations by different Eye doctors, they concluded I was having a severe allergic reaction to my lenses. I now may not be able to wear lenses again. If I weren't allergic to these lenses, I would be happy with them as they were comfortable. However, I would not recommend these lenses simply because you can have perminant damage! I wish I would have known before I used them. The doctors didn't want to believe that you can be allergic to them, but there were no other options. To address the person who suggested we may be commenting from a competitor, I invite anyone to contact me with their questions. I have documented pictures of my eyes from the reaction that I would be glad to show.
10/17/08 by LENZOHEL;L: "holy F=MAJOR DAMAGE"Pros: NONE Cons: TOO EXPENSIVE AND HORRID Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 3 Years, 7 days/week, 14 hours/day Cleaning solution used: cleanser and conditioning pak from b&L Replaces contacts every: 3 Months HOLY F!! I BOUGHT THESE FROM AN ONLINE VENDER THAT DIDNT EXACTLY COST ME AN ARM AND A LEG===MAYBE JUST A LEG. aNYWAY, THESE WERE THE WORST CONTACTS EVER, I AM NOT SURE HOW MUCH THE CONTACT REPS ARE PAYING DOCS TO SELL UP THIS CRAP, BUT DONT TAKE MY WORD FOR IT. THERE IS A GOOD REASON WHY THERE ARE A HUNDRED SO NEG RESPONES ON THIS SITE. I THOUHGT I BOUGHT COUNTERFEIT LENSES, BUT NO. OBVIOUSLY ALL MY HOMIES ON THIS SITE COULD NOT HAVE HAD COUNTERFEITS. I KNOW TORIC LENSES ARE HELL. THIS IS EVEN WORSE. THEY ABSORB CLEANSER MORE. THEY TRY TO BE THIN, BUT I THINK THAT CONTIRBUTES TO THEIR INABILITY TO HOLD THEIR SHAPE AFTER A COUPLE USES. MOST IRRITATING IS THE FACT THAT THEIR EDGES ONLY LAST A COUPLE MINUTES. THEY DONT RETAIN THEIR SHAPE PPL, AND THUS WILL CUT YOUR CORNEAS LIKE A SHARD OF GLASS. I WOULD RATHER GO WITH BURRY VISION THAN FEEL LIKE CATS CLAWING MY EYEBALLS. BOTTOM LINE,DO NOT BE FOOLED. I USUALY DONT WAASTE TIME WITH REVIEWS IN FORUMS LUKE THIS BUT O MAN, I SPENT 300 BUCKS AND AM HAPPY I ONLY OPENED A BOX FOR EACH EYE. THEY SCRATCHED MY EYE, AND I AM STILL FEELING IT EVEN THOUGH I HAVE NOT WORN THEM. U KNOW THAT MOVIE WHERE EVERYONE GOEES BLIND, WELL, WE NOW KNOW HOW THAT MIGHT HAPPEN...PLZ, DONT SCREW YOURSELF BY GETTING THESE. AND IF YOUR OPTOMOTRIST RECOMMEND, TELL HIM TO PUT A PAIR ON AND SEE HOW FN GREAT IT IS!!
10/16/08 by bowke28: "Specialty lenses"Pros: long-term wear Cons: daily wear Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 2 Years, 7 days/week, 24 hours/day Replaces contacts every: 30 Days I find a curious item while reading these reviews. almost every negative review is from people who wear these contacts less than 12 hours per day. the whole reason for these is for folks who cant remove them at "recommended" times. i wear them 24/7, and never have problems. others who either do research into their solution, or who wear them overnight also leave GREAT reviews. if you expect to buy the wal-mart solution and get good use out of these, you will be disappointed. kind of like a luxury car...costs more in maintenance, but far more rewarding if taken care of properly. for those who are disappointed, try putting in a fresh pair and sleep in them the first night. after a few blinks in the morning, you will see why the rest of us like them so much.
10/15/08 by Disappointed: "Caused serious eye infection!! "Pros: comfortable at first Cons: infection, red eye, partial blindness, permanent damage Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 2 Months, 7 days/week, 9 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Opti Free Replaces contacts every: 1 Month I recieved a trial pair of these contacts because they were reported to be "new and improved." However, about a week after I started wearing them my eyes got all red and puffy. I had multiple subconjunctival hemorrhages and my vision was rapidly decreasing. A week later, I went back to the eye doctor b/c it got to the point where I could barely drive. (Being that I'm only 22 I knew something was seriously wrong) It turns out that I had a serious eye infection from the contacts which resulted in a condition known as keratisis (where the cornea becomes inflamed). I had to be put on drops for the past two months and I'm just now regaining my sight. However, my right eye suffered permanent damage and I'll have to live the rest of my life with 20/260 vision in that eye. I would NEVER recommend these contacts to anyone.
10/12/08 by sweet pea: "Causes eye infections"Pros: none Cons: irritation, redness, infection, photosensitivity etc etc Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Month, 7 days/week, 10 hours/day Cleaning solution used: optifree Replaces contacts every: 14 Days I am so glad I am not alone. I have been having on and off eye infections for the past month, since I've switched to oasys; know I know what is causing them! When I first wore these lenses, they felt great. Then the next morning I woke up with gook in my eyes and my eyes were puffy. The next day, may eyes were extremely itchy and irritated when I wore them again. I stopped wearing contacts for about a week until my infection cleared up. As soon as I put in a new pair, the same problems occured. Only this time I had extreme sensitivity to light. I'm glad that I've figured out the problem before causing serious eye problems. These contacts should come with a black box warning: May cause infection or blindness.
10/04/08 by shweepea: "RED VEINY IRRITATED EYES"Pros: NONE Cons: SO MANY CONS Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 2 Months, 7 days/week, 9 hours/day Cleaning solution used: clear care Replaces contacts every: 5 Days i HATE THESE CONTACTS! I have worn contacts for 25 years and have never had so many problems. The first month went pretty well wearing these and then i started to notice my eyes feeling as if there were something in my eye, redness and veiny and lots of guncky discharge in the morning(I never sleep in them). Also, they became extremely light sensitive. Dr. prescribed anti-bio./steroid drops. Retried using Clear Care after doc gave ok to retry, which helped a little but after about 5 days the lenses get uncomfortable and blurry. Doc said the were coated in protein and not allowing enough oxygen through...even after switching cleanser and using rub cleanser prior to storing and using wetting drops frequently. Now i am noticing decreased clearness in my vision & blurring even when wearing my glasses. Guess i am back to my doctor. Hoping no permanent eye damage from these. Hope to get my money back since i bought a year supply. I may be getting a lawyer if eye damage has occured. I will be contacting Acuvue. Stay away from the contacts!!!!!
9/26/08 by Matt: "Allergic Reactions"Pros: Never dry Cons: Allergies Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 8 Years, 5 days/week, 8 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Optifresh Replaces contacts every: 14 Days AFter about a month of wearing these contact I started developing styes. Several eye doctors refused to beleive it was the contacts and had more to do with solution, case, and even as far as my pillow. Come to find out I'm allergic to the sillicone. If you have any type of allergies I suggest NOT buying these. Acuvue has even stated that the risk of allergies are much higher in these contacts.
9/15/08 by computek272: "Acuvue Junk"Pros: none Cons: Itchy, protien builds up too easily, tear too easy Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 3 Months, 7 days/week, 12 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Alcon Opti-Free RepeniSH Replaces contacts every: 1 Month These lenses are terrible. I use these for my right eye and AirOptix for Astigmatism in my left eye. My left one is great but my right eye (Acuvue Oasys) experiences too much. I go through a lot of Alcon Clerz eyedrops to clear protien buildups on the Oasys lens. They are protien magnets. They make my eyes bloodshot and they are very easy to tear. From normal use, I have torn an Oasys lens three times. I am not impressed. I'm never buying these awful lenses again. My right eye ends up hurting after removing the lens too. They get comfortable if I get them in right but they are still pretty bad. I'll look into getting AirOptix (the normal version) for my right eye too.
9/10/08 by Red Eyes: "Acuvue Oasys is horrible!"Pros: None Cons: Very red eyes, dry eyes, blurred vision. Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 7 Months, 7 days/week, 12 hours/day Replaces contacts every: 14 Days I agree with everyone else who wrote a negative review as I have been experiencing the same side effects as them. My eyes are red, you can see the veins all over! When I take them out, there is an exteme protein buildup! My eyes are dry and very irritated. Switching back to my old brand...Oasys was the most expensive so I figured it was good, boy was I wrong.
9/04/08 by Bob: "Great contact lens! Bad reviews are very suspicious!!! "Pros: Many Cons: None Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 2 Years, 7 days/week, 24 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Opti-refresh Replaces contacts every: 21 Days I have been wearing contact lens for over 30 years. I know what works and feels right to me. The J&J Oasys are the best contacts I have tried. I find it more than a little curious that so many people have written bad reviews about the Oasys contacts. It is a top seller and I can see why. I'm wondering if J&J's competition isn't responsible to writing the bad reviews! If you have dry eyes these contacts are teh ticket. But if you don't have dry eyes the Oasys contacts will feel better than what you have been wearing. I like knowing I have 99% blockage of UV, which is very important if you live in sunny climates. My vision is 20/15 in both eyes with my Oasys contacts, which is a touch better than my old Acuvues I wore for decades. The Oasys contacts feel just a good at the end of teh day whether you've been in front of a computer all day, playing golf in the wind, or sweating doing yard work. For those people that may be influenced by the bad reviews I suggest you ask your eye doctor for a free trial pair and wear them for 2 weeks straight (24 hours a day) and see what you think. That's what I do. In fact, I usually wear mine for 4-5 weeks before replacing them and I always sleep in mine. I think you'll love the Oasys contacts as much as I do.
8/26/08 by blessed1777: "These contact lenses are great!!!"Pros: Comfortable, clear vision Cons: $45 for one box at my eye doctor Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 2 Months, 6 days/week, 24 hours/day Replaces contacts every: 14 Days I have had problems with every astigmatism lens I have ever tried until I found the Acuvue Oasys. They are so comfortable it is like having nothing on my eye. They do not move and my vision stays clear. They stay relatively moist so I use less re-wetting drops. They are worth my money!!
8/10/08 by DrJ: "Excellent lens-- but with right cleaning solution"Pros: Extremely confortable, almost no dryness Cons: more expensive, have to be careful about solutions Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 3 Months, 7 days/week, 16 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Ever Clean (peroxide based) Replaces contacts every: 1 Month Alot of people have posted bad reviews here. Based on my experience, this is most likely due to a sensitivity to the lens/solution combination. I moved from Acuvue 2 to Oasys due to frequent dryness. The Oasys are silicone hydrogel lenses with a lower water content (meaning LESS dryness due to evaporation via the lens). But they bind to the chemicals in the cleaning solutions more than the regular hydrogels. This means that solutions that you previously tolerated may not be tolerable with Oasys. So you have to try using a peroxide based cleaner (like Aosept) because after the neutralization is done there are no chemicals left in the lens. In my case I was having increased discomfort after a few weeks of Oasys, but after switching to peroxide the problem went away completely, and now the lenses are as comfortable as ever. Most of the day I feel as if there are no lenses in my eyes, and have little or no dryness in the evening, even in air conditioned rooms. I also notice that my eyes never get red anymore, unlike with acuvue 2.
8/07/08 by Redeye: "Had many problems -- Oasys is not for me!"Pros: easy to handle Cons: red, itchy, runny eyes, grimy-looking lenses Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Month, 6 days/week, 14 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Renu Replaces contacts every: 14 Days I'm another long-time Acuvue lens wearer who can't wear Oasys. Like nearly everyone else on this board, they felt great for a few days, then the problems started. Now I'm trying Acuvue 2 but will probably just go back to good old original Acuvue -- but beware! J&J NO LONGER makes trial sets of Acuvue, so if your doctor wants to check them on your eyes, good luck. I found a couple of originals in the back of a bathroom drawer and brought my own to the appointment.
7/23/08 by sullim4: "It's a very good lens for most people"Pros: High oxygen transfer, very comfortable to wear Cons: Questionable vision quality Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Year, 7 days/week, 15 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Clear Care (Hydrogen Peroxide) Replaces contacts every: 15 Days I really like these contact lenses. They have one of the highest oxygen permeabilities on the market, are extremely comfortable to wear, and are easy to handle when inserting and removing. I've been wearing contacts for eleven years, three different brands, and I can say that overall, these are the best lenses I have worn. My only real knock on them is that my vision isn't as crisp as it was with my previous lenses... but that might be my very slight astigmatism getting worse. You know, I'm really surprised to see so many people knocking this lens. I tend to think this is due to one of three things - incompatible solution use (see http://www.staininggrid.com for more info), lens abuse, or giant papillary conjunctivitis (GPC). Silicone hydrogel lenses are known for exacerbating GPC... and given that Oasys is the most prescribed lens on the market right now... so that might explain the thumbs down. My personal opinion is that if you stick to using Clear Care, and don't wear these lenses overnight (they weren't designed for this), you'll be fine and you'll thoroughly enjoy them.
7/11/08 by DONT_BUY_OASYS: ":::OASYS::: BEWARE OF THEM - SERIOUSLY"Pros: Good vision initially Cons: Everything Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 3 Months, 7 days/week, 12 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Opti-Free Replenish Replaces contacts every: n/a My optometrist recommended Oasys as it was the new product in the market and apparently healthier for the eyes. I read some negative comments on this board and was reluctant to try. However, was persuaded by the doctor after he gave a trial pair. During the trial period, the vision was ultra clear and comfortable. So, I ordered a 6-month supply. Here is where the horror begins. As suggested by many other users, I began getting redness to the eye. This was not just red, it was sore and irritable. You would expect the redness to subside once you removed the lense, but it did not. In fact, it was red all week - in the morning when you wake up, before you go to bed, during the day etc. What came next was not a surprise as it was mentioned on this board - eye infection. I began waking up to flaky eyes... Next, the contact lenses started to have a shorter lifespan. Initially, I could wear them for 2 weeks as recommended. Then it fell to 1 week. Now, 2 to 3 days max. After this 36 hours of use, it becomes blur and you cannot wash the protein away. If you put them against light, you can actually see the build up - it looks exatly like a clear drinking glass that has not been properly cleaned and stained. I'm beginning to feel the optometrists who recommend these products are financially motivated. They must receive some form of attractive backend incentive to push these good. Perhaps Acuvue Oasys is on a market share strategy and is pumping money to the distributors. If you doctor "high recommends" this product, as him or her "Do you wear them yourself, of not, what are you basing your recommendation from". Don't be duped. Listen to the board and stick to what you know best.
7/09/08 by Peach: "HORRIBLE!"Pros: None Cons: Everything Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 2 Years, 7 days/week, 15 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Opti-Free Replenish Replaces contacts every: 10 Days I have been wearing contacts for 23 years and for about 6 or more of them, was wearing Acuvue 2 lenses. The only problem I really had with that lens was a little bit of dryness after wearing for 16-17 hours. So, my Dr talked me into trying this type of lens. I tried O2 Optix and Acuvue Advanced but after a few days, I didnt' like either. That's when I tried Oasis. It seemed OK at first and as you can see I've been wearing them for 2 years, so I've really given it a shot. But, looking back at all of the problems I've had makes me want to go back to the good old Acuvue 2's! When you put a fresh pair in, the Acuvue Oasis seems great. But, maybe later that day or possibly a few days later, it all falls apart. It seems like the problems are all over the board too. Sometimes they are dry, sometimes they are uncomfortable, sometimes they are blurry. I clean and clean them, but nothing seems to help. I've went through so many pairs, wasting them because I couldn't wait a week to put in a new pair. Now that I look back, I would welcome a little dryness after 16-17 hours if everything else was good about the contacts!! But, I just can't find anything. I've just gotten to the point that I'm ready to throw in the towel and try something new...or just go back to the old!! Good luck if you try it, but don't waste 2 years like I did! Go for something more comfortable.

7/04/08 by Kelly: "Worst Disappointment"Pros: None Cons: Dry, blur, scratch Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 4 Months, 7 days/week, 15 hours/day Replaces contacts every: 1 Month The first 2-3 days are deceiving. They are comfortable. However, if you are wearing them for extended hours, there is serious discomfort. They scratched my eyes on 3-4 different occasions. I could not wear contacts for days, almost a full week. My eyes became extremely sensitive to light. I was unable to go outside without squinting and running back inside to dark rooms. Fluorescent lighting at my job even irritated my eyes. I had an occasion where I even had to call off of work because of these contacts. I was too scared to drive. I want to see these contacts taken off of the market.
6/25/08 by Jolie: "awful contacts"Pros: none Cons: everthing Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Month, 7 days/week, 12 hours/day Replaces contacts every: 2 Days These contacts were suppose to be more comfortable, yet I found them extremely difficult to work with. They accumulate protein on the lens easily that doesn't come off. They get very uncomfortable(red, itchy, eyes). They don't fit properly. I hate these contacts, and I have been wearing contacts for 15 years now. These contacts should be investigated with so many people complaining about them.
6/22/08 by Wendy: "The Worst!"Pros: None Cons: Blurry Vision; Red itchy eyes; tear easily Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Month, 7 days/week, 14 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Clear Care Replaces contacts every: 14 Days These are the worst! Initially they feel comfortable going in. I am fine for about two days before things start going haywire. I can't read anything up close and my eyes are itchy and painful. I am wearing glasses now. I have been wearing contact lenses for 25 years and never experienced anything like this. I am glad I am reading these reviews. It is not all in my head.
6/19/08 by contactgirl: "OASIS"Pros: no red eyes Cons: blurry Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Year, 7 days/week, 10 hours/day Replaces contacts every: 15 Days blury--i hate them and quit wearing them. My eye doctor had me try to go back to them with different cleaning methods--still hate them.
6/10/08 by Ballermike: "These things are stellar"Pros: Comfort, moisture retention, lightweight Cons: None so far Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Month, 7 days/week, 24 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Opti Free Replaces contacts every: 14 Days I have been wearing acuvue2's for about 10 years now. New eye exam this year and the dr. told me to try these out. On my 5th week now (3rd) set and they are stellar. I know you are not supposed to sleep in contacts...but as a reference point for this review...i do...usually for the full 2 weeks until i replace them. I don't use any rewetting drops with these and forget there even in. Can't feel them at all. I play pretty intense basketball and haven't had any issues with them, also spend about 6-8 hours a day staring at a computer screen. Just stellar performance...not sure why all the negative reviews. Definitely worth a shot if you get an experience like mine. If not..no harm done*
6/05/08 by farossi: "Comfort deteriorates with age"Pros: Good vision, doesn't slip on eye, doesn't dry out Cons: Start to get uncomfortable quickly Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Month, 7 days/week, 12 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Alcon Opti-Free Replaces contacts every: 14 Days The first day I put these on, I thought I didn't even realize I was wearing contact lenses. I could have fallen asleep thinking I never put them on that day. However, within just a few days behind my computer monitor in the air conditioned office, I noticed that they quickly became uncomfortable. I had to use rewetting drops a few times because of the discomfort. While they don't get dry/blurry and don't slip off my eye, they aren't all that they're cracked up to be. I have a six month supply, so I'll have to see if my next pair has better luck. Would recommend, just not for heavy computer usage (i.e. office job).
6/04/08 by JessMegh: "Irritating lenses"Pros: Go on easy, feel great at first Cons: Irritate the eye, barely last a few days let alone 2 weeks Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 2 Years, 7 days/week, 10 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Clear Care Replaces contacts every: 14 Days I am having a bad allergy season, and my doctor suggested the Oasys as an option. They only make it worse. They irritate my eyes, today is the 2nd day of my 3rd pair, and already they don't stay in place, my eyes are itching and dry feeling, they are just completely irritating. Somedays I can't stand having them in, and I have to take them out within 1 hour!!! It's ridiculous. They also do nothing for my vision once my eyes feel irritated - I can't read anything unless it's 2 feet away. I had a pair of Accuvue Advance, and so I tried those the last 2 weeks, no problems. I mean, I still have allergies so any contacts will be somewhat irritating, but not to the point where I just cannot stand to wear them. I even switched to Clear Care to see if that would help - it did not. Don't bother trying these unless you get a free pair from your doctor. Really.
6/03/08 by A: "MOST UNCOMFORTABLE CONTACTS I EVER WORE!"Pros: NONE Cons: Everything!! Awful, most uncomfortable things to wear! Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Month, 7 days/week, 15 hours/day Cleaning solution used: opti free with acuvue oasys otherwise any cvs brand multi-us Replaces contacts every: 2 Days Reddness, iritation, and itching from these horrible little things! on the request of my eye doc I gave them a try. Trial pair was ok. Needed a box so I picked up a six pack. I am so glad I didnt waste my time and money on a yr. supply! these god-awful contacts are going in the garbage. I ruined a few pairs by just tryign to take them out. What a disaster. I am going back to Acuvue 2's . I paid 25.00 a box for these little ----- and never ever again!! I will go back to acuvue 2's. I ve been wearing contacts for 20 yrs. and never had such a problem with contacts until now. My eye doc said they changed the base curves to 8.8 (mine is 8.3 technically)_ so he changed it to these 8.8 ones. I wore them better than 1 yr. ago when another eye doc challenged me to wear them. I tried them and hated them! this time the base curve was a tiny bit better.. but that is all positiive I will say!! he said 5 percent of population are allergic to silicon and cannot wear them. Never again.

I've never been more displeased with a contact lens. I've had dryer eyes and more irritation problems with my eyes since I've started using these lenses and I've been wearing contact lenses for over 10 years. They are very comfortable for the first day of use, but often they are horrible and I have difficulty making it through a single day without having some trouble with them.

I had worn the Acuvue 2 with no trouble. As soon as I started wearing these I began having trouble-irritation, redness, leses slipping on my eye. The dr. said I had developed an infection to my cleaning solution so I switched to Clear Care. I'm still having trouble. Not only are they more $ but I go through them much faster. I'll finish out the batch I have but then I'm going back to the Acuvue 2. I wish I had read this before trying these!!

4/28/08 by Mad: "Not good. Definitely would not recommend."Pros: None. Cons: - Tears easily - Blurred vision - Out of shape Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Year, 6 days/week, 10 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Renu Replaces contacts every: 20 Days I was recommended to use these by my doctor as I have dry eyes. Previously used the Acuvue Advace and they worked fine, but was asked to try these. My first lens tore in just 2 days the rest have just been causing blurred vision. I have also noticed that these lenses go out of shape, sometimes even the new ones are out of shape straight out of the box, must be due to fact that they are thinner then the Advance lenses. Unfortunately I bought two boxes and so have to finish using them before I can switch back to the Acuvue Advace. I wish I had read this forum before I switched.
4/27/08 by maccas: "Absolutely AWFUL!"Pros: NOTHING! Cons: EVERTHING! Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 0 Year, 7 days/week, 16 hours/day Cleaning solution used: complete Replaces contacts every: 1 Month I saw the advertisment for these lenses and thought I would give them a try. I have dry eyes so i thought this would be the product I've been waiting for. 'These may be the most comfertable lenses you will ever try' the advertisment said. WRONG! I got a trial pair put them in, and started off my day as usual. The 1st day they were uncomfortable, but I thought I was 'adapting' to them. The second day, my eyes just flat out rejected them. They did not move on my eye, in fact they stuck to my corneas no matter how much eye drops I used. The pain was horrific! My eye were also very red. It was a total nightmare. I had to ring my optomertrist at school from my cellphone. They told me to come in immediately to get them removed. I had to drive into town wearing these horrible lenses. I rushed into my optomertrist, and at this stage my eyes were SO red and I could not stop rubbing them. After I took them out it was just a relief. I was given a pair of frequency 55 lenses to use in the mean time and they were MUCH better than these lenses. DO NOT wear these lenses! They are a total botch up. I ended up having an allergic reaction to them. The advertising is totally INCORRECT. DO NOT GO NEAR THESE LENSES!
4/23/08 by Sasori: "Meager Review"Pros: not sure yet Cons: less comfortable than the A2 Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 6 Months, 7 days/week, 12 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Renu Multi-purpose; Clear Care Replaces contacts every: 10 Days I have worn glasses since i was 5 years old. So at 33 I decided to final get over the "finger-eye" thing, and try contacts. So for the first week I tried Acuvue 2. While the comfort was outstanding, the vision quality was a little off. So we tried Acuvue Oasys. My vision was much better but I did notice a alight dip in comfort. I have noticed that when I clean then with Clear Care, they feel much better. So I am trying to switch to Clear Care full time. I will try the Acuvue 2 again after my supply of Oasys runs out
4/19/08 by Eye See: "It's not you....it's the lenses"Pros: none Cons: itchy, red, painful, swollen eyes Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 3 Months, 7 days/week, 12 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Opti Free Replaces contacts every: 14 Days I rarely write online but wanted to write my comments because it never occured to me that my problems might be my new Oasys lenses until I saw this site after googling 'red, itchy eyes". I have been wearing lenses for 30 years without issue. Last fall, my eye doctor switched my from Accuvue Advance to Oasys as they were the latest and greatest. I kept getting red, itchy and painful eyes - I even got an uncontrollable eye twitch. It felt like my eyelids were sandpaper. My doctor kept saying I was infecting my eyes somehow. I using the Optifree solution and I was I rubbing. I bought all new make-up, wore my glasses for a week while I put in medicated drops but as soon as I went back to putting in my contacts, the red, itchy eyes would return, faster and faster each time. I finally realized it was related to the new lenses. I had worn them comfortably for a month or so before the problems started. I have switched back to Accuvue Advance and no longer have problems. I don't know what is in the Oasys but it sounds like alot of people have a negative reaction to it. Thank goodness it didn't cause permanant damage to my eyes.

AVOID!!!"Pros: none Cons: possibly dangerous Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 3 Months, 6 days/week, 9 hours/day Replaces contacts every: 14 Days I have been wearing contacts for over 20 years with minimal problems. Because my eyes get dry in winter, my optometrist recommended Oasys. After a month, my eyes started becoming redder and redder. I have had allergic conjunctivitis waking up with sticky, bright-red eyes) three times. I thought that I had a reaction to the cleaning solution, but after trying three different kinds, I realize that it's these %$#ed lenses. I have been wearing only glasses for a week now, and my eyes are still puffy and red. I wonder about the possibility of permanent damage. AVOID!!!
3/07/08 by Alarmed: "Not good"Pros: feels moist to the touch Cons: rapid eye redness Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 0 Month, 3 days/week, 12 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Kirkland multi-plus or whatever it's called Replaces contacts every: 14 Days I suffer from very dry eyes, and have been using O2 Optix about 2-3 times a week. I tried the Oasys on the advice of my doctor for the first time yesterday. While they felt fine, in about an hour or two, my eyes were becoming very red. The veins in my right eye in particular became alarmingly huge, like I had an injury. The whites of both eyes became criss-crossed with red veins. I also had to use rewetting drops a few times during the day, just like with the O2 Optix. Wearing glasses today, waiting for the redness to fade. Will try them once more, but if the redness happens again, will go back to O2 Optix.
2/29/08 by JC: "Great Comfort and Vision"Pros: can't feel them Cons: none yet Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Month, 7 days/week, 24 hours/day Replaces contacts every: 14 Days I've only been wearing contacts for a few weeks now. When I initially was fitted I wasn't told what kind of contacts they gave me but they felt horrible. When I went back to the Dr. he listened to my complaints and gave me the Oasys. I didn't expect much due to my bad experience with the other kind and was shocked how clear my vision was. I also cannot feel the contacts in my eyes at all. I actually have to look in the mirror at times to make sure they're still in. I had discomfort one day after wearing them for a week straight but otherwise I am very pleased and would recommend them highly...not sure why so many people don't like them...
2/14/08 by Roadracer: "Very Good Lens for me."Pros: Very Comfortable, fit and vision is great. Cons: Higher price, for now. Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 2 Months, 7 days/week, 14 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Alcon Opti-free. Replaces contacts every: 15 Days I am surprised by many of the negative reviews. I moved from Acuvue 2, to these Oasys lenses. Obviously this was a move to silicon hydrogel, which I researched deeply. These lenses have been a good move for me, and I have had good results. Also seems as though J&J are one of the few makers which add UVAUVB blocking. Not sure why others do not. One note of concern: I was a Renu user, but having moved to silicon - I noticed no reference made in that product to these lenses. I then found www.staininggrid.com, as well as many medical journals on the issues of cleaning preservatives in biguanide solutions and silicon lenses. When I switched, I also moved to Opti-free which also is documented to support silicon lenses. Also you should RUB silicone lens. I think many here with bad results are simply not using the right cleaning solution AND are not rubbing a cleaning cycle on their lenses. There are very few people who are allergic to silicone, so I think many are blaming a lens, when they need to look at their cleaning regiment.
2/08/08 by Blueflower: "Bad Experience"Pros: None Cons: Everything Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Year, 7 days/week, 8 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Renu Replaces contacts every: 15 Days I was recommended to try these lenes for a week. The 1st day I wore them, they immediately felt irritating, dry, and inflamed. 2nd day... same thing, and I had a hard time opening my eyes in the morning. Day 3... I only wore it for a few hours and can't stand the pain anymore... gave up on these lenses. Went back to Acuvue 2, never had any problems with Acuvue 2's. There's definitely a problem with these silicon lenses... stop wearing them if you have symptoms.
1/28/08 by Keshia: "Eye Killers if you have an allergic reaction"Pros: Feel great when open a new pair Cons: Unwearable Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 10 Years, 7 days/week, 15 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Bausch & Lomb Replaces contacts every: 12 Days I'v been wearing contacts since I was in 7th grade, and never had a problem with my eyes or contacts ... until my doctor persuaded me to try the oaysis more oxygen for your eyes. I hate these lenses, not only do I pay $34.00 a box for three pairs, I go through the box within a month because they are soooo uncomfortable. I had no problem for the first couple of months and don't know why I didn't search for reviews earlier. The kill me eyes when I remove them to wear my glasses and it's like sandpaper sometimes or an eyelash in your eyes constantly when you wear them for more than 6 to 7 hours. I'm sure these lenses are great for some people but I've had nothing but problems since I switched over !!! There is a goop in my eyes, red, and itching if I ever sleep in them.
1/27/08 by Charm: "!!!SWITCH YOUR SOLUTION!!!"Pros: Moist eyes all day, MORE oxygen, Thin, Can sleep in them Cons: The price, Does not work well w/ multipurpose solutions Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Year, 5 days/week, 11 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Clear Care (I used to use Optifree Replenish) Replaces contacts every: 14 Days A few months ago, I started having problems with my Acuvue 2's. I could not wear them often because they dried out my eyes so much! I stuck to my glasses for a few months, then could only wear them for 8 hours before I could no longer tolerate them for weeks. Up close, my eyes looked like golf balls and when I woke up in the morning they were always so dry. They were difficult to take out as well (They would not slide off, it felt like they were stuck to my eye at times) My sister who wore them (Acuvue 2's) got a severe eye infection and was placed on Vigamox for a few weeks. After she got better the doc prescribed her some Oasys and she is doing better now. I told our doctor of my dry eye issues and after warning me of the price she fitted me with some oasys! Oh what relief! When I got home I read these reviews and was shocked at the low ratings! It appeared to me that the longer you wore these, the more prone to infection you would become! I became worried because the Hydraclear in these contacts were a godsend to me! But after my week trial I started to notice that they became increasingly less comfortable to wear, but they were still very moist. Oh my god, I thought, I'm gonna end up with an eye infection like all these people! So I did my research and discovered that my OPTIFREE Replenish was contributing to the decreased comfort! I found Clear Care (a preservative FREE, hydrogen peroxide solution)to be the, well, solution to my problems. It turns out that multipurpose solutions do NOT clean lenses that effectively, (especially, it turns out, RENU and several "no rub" generic brands). Protein will continue to build up on the lenses, and EVENTUALLY MANY PEOPLE WILL DEVELOP SENSITIVITIES TO THE PRESERVATIVES IN MULTIPURPOSE SOLUTIONS. I suggest going onto http://www.staininggrid.com/ to see how your current solution interacts with your type of contacts. As for changing these every 2 weeks, I can now wear them up to twice as long! That means these are well worth the money I pay for them.
1/23/08 by chloe: "must fit properly!"Pros: eyes less dry Cons: fit can be tricky Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 2 Months, 7 days/week, 10 hours/day Cleaning solution used: alcon replenish Replaces contacts every: 10 Days This lens was made in only one base curve (8.4) until Jan. 2008. When the lens first came out, J&J said on their informational website that almost everyone can wear 8.4. They haven't admitted they're wrong, but the fact that they came out with a second base curve (8.8) is pretty much an admission. Many of those who complain about red eyes, pain, feeling like there's something in there, discharge, infection, are probably suffering from lenses that are too tight. I had exactly those symptoms and my eye doctor just switched me to the 8.8 base curve, which is less curved and "grips" my eyeball less tightly. I experienced almost instantaneous relief. If J&J would only own up to their misfire in putting out only one base curve and claiming it would fit everyone, they would do much better at selling this lens, which does seems to be an improvement over the older soft lenses.
1/13/08 by blurry: "not sure they are safe"Pros: none Cons: blurred my vision Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Month, 7 days/week, 12 hours/day Replaces contacts every: 7 Days after wearing these for one day my vision became blurred, i went back to using standard acuvue 2
1/07/08 by Swank: "Overpriced, inferior product"Pros: Can't think of any Cons: Tear easily; impossible to keep clean; infection/irritation Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Year, 7 days/week, 12 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Renu Replaces contacts every: 14 Days My doctor prescribed these contacts after I began experiencing severe eye dryness. I had been an Acuvue2 user for a year. I am severely disappointed. For starters, these contacts are twice as expensive as my old ones, and they need to be replaced on a more regular basis. I have never seen contact lenses tear so easily. I wear them for a day or two and exercise complete caution with them, yet they inevitably get a small tear in them that irritates my eye so much they have to be thrown out. I can't get build-up off them no matter what I do or use. I also experienced initial infections and irritation. My eyes are also severely sensitive to sunlight. I hate these things. They make my life miserable and I can't wait to be rid of them.
12/18/07 by red-eyed: "No, these are NOT better than Acuvue 2's"Pros: ???? Cons: Everything Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 2 Months, 7 days/week, 10 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Optifree Replenish or Express Replaces contacts every: 14 Days After my annual eye exam, my doc recommended trying the Oasys saying I might prefer them over the Acuvue 2's since the Oasys is supposed to bring more oxygen for your eyes than the 2's. (I had tried the Advance before and thought they were just OK so I switched back tot he 2's) Not only have I had multiple infections in my eyes, but for some reason have extreme sensitivity to light after removing my contacts and seem to constantly have this red-eye syndrome and end up with "oozing" eyes the next morning and having to revert back to my glasses and having my co workers joke about me hvaing a doobie the night before everytime they see me with my glasses on. DEFINTEILY would NOT recommend..especially if you've been a loyal fan of the 2's.
11/27/07 by Mindex: "Was unable to wear"Pros: None for me Cons: Irritated my eye instantly Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Year, 7 days/week, 12 hours/day Cleaning solution used: optifree replanish Replaces contacts every: 1 Day Just bought these - I usually wear Focus night and day - extended 30-day wear - but lately have trouble with discomfort when changing lenses. SO I've been using focus dailies - which I'm happy with but find they can be uncomfortable after about 6 to 8 hours - so was hoping for something that could last me comofortably longer. These lenses were immediately uncomfortable in both eyes but moreso in my right(feeling like something in the eye) - I thought I'd leave them in for 5 mins to see if things would settle - within a couple of mins I had a sharp (bearable) shooting pain in my right cheek which came and went over a few mins - so I took them out. The shooting pain settled after about 5 mins. (Not sure what it was, I guess it was referred pain - I am a doctor, but not an eye expert) Now, an hour later I have just put in some acuvue moist dailys - I will report there later to see how they go - so far comfortable and clear.
11/18/07 by Joe H: "Absolutely Horrible!"Pros: None Cons: Everything! Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 4 Months, 7 days/week, 12 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Optifree Express Replaces contacts every: 10 Days I've worn several other brands of contacts over the last 10 years with Acuvue 2's being the best. It was recommened by my doctor that I try these Oasys contacts for better comfort. It took less than two days for the problems to start. Now my eyes become irritated within minutes of putting in these contacts. I also now have a chronic eyelid infection that won't go away, causing a constant protein buildup that ultimately requires me to remove the contacts for cleaning; often before I can even get home from work! (I've NEVER had to pull off whole blobs of buildup on a contact before until now!) Then there's the problem of air bubbles developing under the contact that won't go away. They also have a problem of being easily distorted in shape around the edges, and won't form fit themselves back onto my eye. (thus causing the air bubbles) Stay away from these overpriced contacts at all cost!!!
11/10/07 by wombat: "Stay away from these lenses!!!!!"Pros: none Cons: Had allergic recation to senofilcon A silicone Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 4 Months, 7 days/week, 12 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Opti-free Replaces contacts every: 14 Days First off, I have never had problems wearing contact lenses before (I've worn them for over 15 years now). I wore these lenses for a couple months and everything was fine. Then, I started to have irritations in both eyes - when I put my lenses on in the morning and out at night I would get this unbearable stinging pain in my eye. My eye doctor thought my symtoms were related to dry-eye and had me using some OTC eye drops, but my problems continued and I repeatedly got infections. On one occasion my eyes were extremely sensitive to the light. I also experienced discharge, redness and sharp pains in both eyes at random moments throughout the day. I came to this forum and read about other users having problems and immediately stopped using these, reported the problem to my doctor, Johnson and Johnson and filed a complaint with the FDA. Please stay away from these lenses.
11/01/07 by SCNurse1970: "Oasys.....Not Good For Me"Pros: None )for me) Cons: Dryer eyes, itchy eyes, blurred vision Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Month, 6 days/week, 14 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Opti-Free Express Replaces contacts every: 14 Days When I went for my annual check-up, my Dr. told me they wanted me to try the Oasys lenses. Told me how much more breathable they are and how much better for the eye they are. I tried. I immediately felt like I had an eye lash in my left eye. I told the Dr. this before leaving the office, she gave me another lens to take with me just in case it didn't get better. Next morning I tried the other lens, smae thing. I couldn't stand it. I put my old Acuvue 2 back in my left eye. No pain, ntohing, felt great. I kept trying to wear the right eye oasys. After 2 days, I coulnd't stand it anymore. Coulnd't see, everything was blurry. Went to the Dr. today, re-checked my eyes, gave me the Acuvue 2, haven't had a problem since. He told me some people are sensitive to silicone. After a lot of research on the internet, I've found that to be true of many Oasys patients.
10/31/07 by em: "Don't use these contacts!!"Pros: porous lenses Cons: irritate eyes, blurry vision, build up after a few days, Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Year, 5 days/week, 20 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Target Brand Replaces contacts every: 14 Days My opthlamologist recommended these to me after he found out I had been wearing my contacts in my eyes for 2 months or so without taking them out (I'm not a fan of glasses because they create too much pressure on the sinuses above my nose). After a few months they started making my eyes itch and created build up that I could actually see floating on top of them when I wore them. I was forced to change them often, perhaps even once a week in order to save my eyes and forced to wear glasses on the days when I just couldn't take wearing them. I know its not the solution I use even though its generic because even with the doctors recommended solution I still had problems. I went back to see him for my next exam and told him my complaints but he wouldn't let me switch because he knew I had a tendency to keep my contacts in my eyes for longer than recommended. To sum it up, I've been reading about a lot of people who've suffered fates worse than mine (infections, corneal scratching) and I've vowed to never use these contacts again (after I finish up my supply that is). Beware the hype. They're only comfortable for the first few months (maybe) and the first day you wear a new pair.
10/13/07 by afox41: "relief-thank you-not crazy"Pros: absolutely none Cons: absolutely everything Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Year, 7 days/week, 8 hours/day Cleaning solution used: vary Replaces contacts every: 14 Days At yrly exam,dr. gave me the new lens.Said they were MUCH better than the Accuvue 2's I'd been using for yrs.Within a week I was back at the dr with red, itchy, glued up eyes.He said I had been using OLD contact solution(no I hadnt),gave me Pataday drops, and I had to buy a new pr of glasses as I couldnt wear the lens.2 months later-eyes not bothering me so I put in new pair oaysis-again-with in 2 hours-same reaction.Went BACK to dr-insisted it was an allergic reaction-he insisted again it wasnt-I demanded prescription for the Accuvue 2's which he refused to gove me when I went in with infection.Within a day of wearing the old lense--eyes fully normal.NO itching,no glue goop.It WAS the other lenses. So glad I found your guys to prove I'm not nuts!!
10/13/07 by RachelC: "I Regret Ever Buying These"Pros: Nothing. Cons: Causes pain, dryness, and other eye problems. Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 5 Years, 5 days/week, 15 hours/day Cleaning solution used: OptiFree Replenish Replaces contacts every: 14 Days So at the advice of the Dr. and after listening to all the media hype about these contacts, I decided to switch. I bought a year supply of the contacts since I knew I would be leaving the country. Two months later, I cannot wear them for even 2-3 hours at a time before my eyes become red and inflamed. It begins with red rings around where the contacts sit in my eyes, and even if I take them out at this point within another hour or two my eyes are completely blood shot and sensitive to light. I am terrified of putting the lenses back in. DON'T BUY THESE LENSES IN BULK! They may feel good for a few months, but you will pay for it later.
10/12/07 by sara jean: "Eye Ulcers"Pros: None Cons: You can feel them, I have eye infections, ulcers, dry eyes.. Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Year, 3 days/week, 8 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Optifree Replaces contacts every: 14 Days Wow, I am not alone. I started having eye problems shortly after switching to Oasys. I couldn't figure out what was wrong. I'd wake up in the mornings with my eyes glued shut and finally it got to the point that I couldn't open them due to the horrendous pain. I couldn't be in direct light, couldn't drive and definitely couldn't wear contacts. First the doc told me I must have scratched my cornea. When it didn't get better I went to someone else and they told me I had ulcers developing very rapidly in my eyes and had I waited much longer I would have went blind. They gave me a topical steroid and told me to take a break from the contacts for awhile. When I went in after they healed, I asked for a new brand and she convinced me it wasn't the acuvue, but that I'd been wearing them too long. So I ordered them again. Took them out every night after work and only wore them three days a week. Threw them away after two weeks. My eyes got worse again. I have an eye doctor appt tomorrow and I will be printing off these pages to bring to her so she will allow me to get a new brand. I am so glad to finally realize what the problem REALLY was - the over-priced, over-promoted contacts.
10/11/07 by AcuWHO?: "I feel like I'm not alone"Pros: None Cons: Gave me an eye infection! Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 6 Years, 7 days/week, 14 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Alcon Replaces contacts every: 14 Days After reading that last review, I finally feel like I'm not alone!!!! I could have written it myself. After months of pain and discomfort after trying these "much better" and "moisture-filled" lenses (that were also so much more expensive) I finally realized what the problem was - Acuvue OASYS!!! I have been to the eye doctor several times now and have done severe damage to my eye. I woke up the other morning and could barely open my eye. It was tearing all day. Both eyes have been red, irritated, and painful. My opthamologist prescribed me steroid antibiotic drops that seem to be helping but she said I was on the brink of a SERIOUS EYE INFECTION. She had never heard of any adverse reaction to OASYS but I am printing out all these reviews for her! I used to wear Acuvue 2's and never had a problem. I wish I never listened to that stupid Optomotrist who was probably getting kick-backs from the manufacturer.
10/10/07 by mad as heck in CA: "DO NOT USE"Pros: None Cons: Eye irritation, pain, redness Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 2 Years, 7 days/week, 10 hours/day Cleaning solution used: optifree replenish Replaces contacts every: 14 Days I wish I read these reviews earlier. I have had several trips to the doctor, and was put on allergy, antibiotic and steroid eyedrops because of the redness in my eyes. Also, I've had to use drops all the time because my eyes have been so dry. Now, the eye doctor told me my cornea is swollen, and I can't even see well even with my glasses. If my eyes don't get better, there should be a class-action suit against the manufacturer.
9/30/07 by Joe: "Is a good idea on paper, but...."Pros: comfortable to wear and easy to insert Cons: often distorted vision after a few days wear Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Month, 5 days/week, 10 hours/day Replaces contacts every: n/a Often within a few days a fresh pair of lenses will produce distorted vision and I have to replace one or both lenses. This makes for a very uneconomic lens choice. I guess the manufacturer pushed the envelope a bit too far in terms of water content. Will have to go back to the 2's and use eye drops.
8/29/07 by clballet35: "Awesome Contacts"Pros: Comfortable, hold moisture well Cons: Solution Picky--not compatible with generics/renu Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Year, 5 days/week, 12 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Clear Care or Ultracare, and Aquify when travelling Replaces contacts every: 21 Days I'm sure some people have actual problems related to these lenses--sounds either like a fit problem or a solution related problem. The Oasys lenses are silicone lenses and tend not to fair well to generic solutions or renu. Aquify is good with these and I find Allergan's UltraCare so far to be more work, but definitely compatible. www.staininggrid.com--tells you of interactions. Nothing dangerous, but an incompatiblity such as dryness sometimes is related to a lens not agreeing with a current solution.Also--silicone lenses--MUST be rubbed REGARDLESS of solution labeling--they can can lipid deposits easily and rubbing usually fixes that in most cases.
8/21/07 by Michelle: "Terrible"Pros: None Cons: Irritating to eye, blurred vision Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 11 Years, 7 days/week, 12 hours/day Replaces contacts every: n/a I have worn Acuvue 2 for 11 years now, never had any problems I wouldn't even have problems sleeping in them. Just had to get new RX last week and Dr recommended Oasys, biggest mistake, have had so many problems, hard to remove, can feel contact moving on eye, blurred vision, itching eyes. I went back today to change back, will never change again!

My eyes are constantly red and irritated and even dryer than before. For the first few months I attibuted the problem to allergies, but it has gone on far too long and the problems continue to persist. I have never worn my glasses so much. Horrible product. Has anyone had success in returning?
8/18/07 by mbk: "Corneal abrasions"Pros: None Cons: Dry eyes, redness, corneal abrasions Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 3 Months, 7 days/week, 16 hours/day Replaces contacts every: 14 Days I've been wearing contacts for 30 years. I had corneal abrasions when I wore hard contacts. Once I switched to gas-permeable, then soft, I never had a problem...until I switched from Acuvue 2 to Oasys. At first, they seemed better, but after 2 months and a new job (a little more computer work but not enough to cause abrasions) - I had red eyes that were swollen and then had abrasions. I haven't worn my contacts more than a few days in the past 2 weeks and continue to have eye pain, dryness and redness. I am now on eye drops after seeing a doctor who advised that I stop wearing that brand since some people are allergic to it! I must be one of them. I'm gong back to acuvue 2 and pray that I haven't damaged my eyes with these contacts that should be called 'sand in your eye' not oasys.
8/11/07 by Robbie: "Very great "Pros: Non irritating, easy to get in, soft in the eye Cons: They get a little dusty towards nightime. Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 2 Years, 7 days/week, 21 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Equate Multipurpose Solution Replaces contacts every: 15 Days Don't really listen to the people that say they are horrible and that they cause major eye infections. ANY Contact lens brand can cause servere eye damage and even eye loss. But that is very rare. like I said, ANY CONTACT LENS has those problems. But they are soo easy to get in. It's not even funny. You pop it in and go. But it's really easier with a mirrior otherwise you will drop it. Speaking of dropping it - these lenses can stand alot. Liek I dropped mine 4 times the other day, just washed it well and bam, it was good as new. And you don't need eyedrops because they only get dry if you sleep with them in - which is absolutley not reccomended, and these contacts are GREAT FOR YOU IF YOU ARE ON THE COMPUTER OR GAME ALOT. I'm on there 4-6 hours a day and my eyesight has actually been the same and without lenses my eyesight has been horrible. I Love contacts; especially Oasys.
8/08/07 by Cee: "I wouldn't risk it...."Pros: expensive, amazingly uncomfortable Cons: NONE! Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Month, 7 days/week, 17 hours/day Cleaning solution used: generic Replaces contacts every: 14 Days For the past 6 years, I've worn Focus 1-2 weekly. They feel great and are quite affordable. However, at my last eye exam, My doctor told me that they are being discontinued and recommended Acuvue Oasys. He touted them as being the creme de la creme of contact lenses and healthy for my eyes. He gave me a trial pair and that seemed okay. So I bought a 1/2 year supply. What an awful mistake. The only time these lenses are comfortable are the moment you place them in your eye. During the first day, they already started to bother me. My eyes felt dry and irritated. By the third day, my eyes hurt so much that I had to remove the contact lenses. The next couple of days, I wore glasses because my eyes still hurt. I thought maybe the problem was with that pair, so I tried another. Unfortunately, nothing improved. I was pretty angry that I spent all this extra money for contacts that I couldn't even wear. I found many negative Oasys reviews online that ranged from mild symptoms (discomfort, dryness) to quite severe (allergic reactions, vision loss, etc). I only wish I read these reviews before hand. Luckily, my doctor changed my prescription back to Focus and I was able to return my awful, expensive Oasys lenses. I feel awful for those less fortunate. DO NOT BUY THESE LENSES!
8/08/07 by Fluffy: "Amazing lenses"Pros: Very comfortable Cons: Can be torn easily if handled roughly Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 8 Months, 6 days/week, 20 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Optifree Express Replaces contacts every: 15 Days I know I'm likely to be biased as these are the only lenses I've ever worn, but they are amazing. I've had problems on and off with my vison since I was a small kid and we got it corrected with glasses, so I didn't need anything for years. At uni however, I studied computer science so started spending all day every day infront of a copmuter screen which consequently made my vision bad again. Last tiem I went to the opticians, I opted for a contact lens trial as I'm used to how I look without glasses. My optician gave me these and even during the 2-3 hour trial, I had to get my dad to keep looking in my eyes, I thought one of them had fallen out they were that comfortable. Only time I've found them to dry out is after wewaring them for approx 24 horus, or when I've bene in a heavily smokey environment, in which case, a few drrops of Optifree Express has worked quite well. I've not tried a full night's sleep in them, only a short nap adn found them a little bit dry after wards, but a few drops of solution sorted that out. In short, these are brilliant lenses and I'm not sure I'd want to try any others.

DANGEROUS!!!"Pros: comfortable at first Cons: everything else Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Year, 5 days/week, 9 hours/day Replaces contacts every: n/a I have worn contacts for 20+ years with no problems. For the first few months of wearing these I thought they were great, however I have begun to experience the same kinds of problems as others who have posted. They have caused numerous reactions that resemble a severe case of pink eye. It literally feels like a knife stabbing me in the eyes. These contacts should be recalled. If they have caused permanent damage I am going to take legal action.

Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 4 Months, 7 days/week, 14 hours/day Cleaning solution used: opti-free Replaces contacts every: 1 Month I have been wearing these contacts for 4 months now, and I have never had so many problems! My eyes actually hurt with all the protein deposits on the surface when I remove the lenses. I have discharge that I have never had before with other Acuvue products, and my eyes constantly burn, itch, and are painful. I have never worn my glasses as much as I have within the past 4 months; the contacts literally shift around and do not stay on my eye. If you think it is just allergies, like I did, I would consider a possible problem with this lenses as the cause of your agony. Do not try these and waste your money! Stick with Acuvue I or II.

Well, that will only last so long. After three weeks I began having red, sore eyes with discharge. I went to the Dr. and was given medication for infections in both eyes. After two weeks on drops my left eye became worse. I went back to the Dr. and now had a staph infection in the left eye. I am now on Vigamox, a steriod drop and a ointment at night. I have been wearing contacts for 25 years and I have never had problems. I have spent so much money on Dr. visits and medications. I also had to buy new glasses and prescription sunglasses because I can not wear contacts for a few months if ever again. THESE CONTACTS SHOULD NOT BE ON THE MARKET.

Cons: Headaches, Expensive, Infections, Itchy/Irritated/Pink eyes Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 2 Years, 6 days/week, 8 hours/day Cleaning solution used: B&L MultiPurpose Solution + Opti-Free Express Replaces contacts every: 1 Month At first, I fell in love with these contact lenses. But then, when I ordered my second years supply of the lenses, terrible headaches would occur a couple of hours into wear and the contacts were easily ripped/torn. There would be pain when inserting the lenses, and your eyes would become very irritated when you take them out. The 1st year was amazing, I'll give Acuvue that. Despite that, I would NOT recommend these lenses.

They are softer and much easier to put on. Even if you sleep in them its not a big deal just blink and go. As a doctor gota run all over the hospital, and these things are just great.
6/28/07 by I traded Paris for a pack of American Spirts: "I disagree with Paris"Pros: The showers Cons: Cigarettes are expensive in the slammer. Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 5 Years, 7 days/week, 12 hours/day Replaces contacts every: n/a I don't know what Paris is talking about. I was her cell mate for most of her stay and I never saw her wearing contacts once. Granted, I had her corn-rowing my hair and spotting me on the bench press in the yard so I wasn't fully paying attention but... still.
6/28/07 by captain murphy: "MUSTACHE: On or Off ?"Pros: On Cons: Off Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 11 Years, 7 days/week, 23 hours/day Cleaning solution used: i live underwater Replaces contacts every: 1 Year That's not in the budget! How are we paying for all this? Selling pot. ...Holders. ...Made of hemp.
6/27/07 by kittycatmeowmeow: "lava rocks"Pros: comfy Cons: blindness Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Month, 7 days/week, 14 hours/day Cleaning solution used: a combo of sea salt, saliva, and california tap water Replaces contacts every: 15 Days "These contacts remind me of the time I had baby lava rocks in my eyes." I remove my contacts after awaking in massive eye pain from a very tiny and unintentional wine nap at three in the morning. Moments later... my eyeballs are literally forcing sleeping pills down my throat in attempt to never see the light of day again. Half hour goes by. Verdict? "Eye infection." Sexy. It's fatal. The overdose totally contributes. But, medical attention is sought! I'm a classified survivor. Yep. I can voluntarily open AND CLOSE both eyes. Am I more blind than before? You bet. Would I recommend? Depends on who to. (oh yeah...)

Very good. I did try the comptablies for the first time one contact in each eye and these thing blow them away. I never hardly even feel my contacts in my eyes, these don't dry out(most don't though) and work great, see great and glare has improved! A+ all theses bad reviews scared me ,but most I think are allegeric or has other issues. Mine are great.
6/19/07 by Shannon: "Very Comfortable "Pros: Moist, Comfortable, No Blur Cons: None Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 2 Years, 7 days/week, 24 hours/day Cleaning solution used: OptiFree Express Replaces contacts every: 30 Days I've tried many brands of contact lenses in order to find a pair that is most comfortable. I work at a computer all day and have about an hour commute home from work. With my previous contacts, it was very uncomfortable to keep my eyes focused on the screen and on the road (especially) when driving home. My eyes would get very tired, red, dry, and the contacts felt like sand in my eyes. But ever since I put on these lenses, I could feel a difference immediately. I can't feel them at all. It's like I have nothing on. Now, I can worry less about my lenses and focus more on my work and everything else I'm required to do. I realize every eye is different. So, get something that works for you. But, for me, these lenses are a dream.
6/13/07 by leeo: "Every eye is different - Oasys works GREAT for me!"Pros: Not dry, more comfortable, easy to handle Cons: none Has been wearing Acuvue Oasys: 1 Year, 7 days/week, 24 hours/day Cleaning solution used: Renu Replaces contacts every: 14 Days Every eye is different. I read all reviews and I just wanted to educate people that is why acuvue has different models for different eyes. I had 100% improvement from the first generation Acuvue. I love the product, it feels better, easier to put on and my eyes are not red anymore! Ask your optometrist to try other brands/models.
