Vertex Toric (Encore Toric)

Vertex Toric (Encore Toric) image

Package: 6 contact lenses/ box

Type: Monthly disposable toric

CooperVision, Inc. is changing the brand name of CV Encore Toric to Vertex Toric. While the name is new, the actual packaged lens remains the same. During this transition you may receive either lens, but you can trust that their performance will be identical. If you have astigmatism and want crisp, clear vision with the convenience of a disposable lens, consider Vertex Toric lenses. Vertex Toric lenses are manufactured using CooperVision's patented UltraSync technology, a process that produces a perfect edge on every contact lens. This contact lens design provides more stability and less rotation, ensuring that vision and comfort are consistent with each new pair of contact lenses. Vertex Toric lenses are also manufactured with a light blue handling tint, which makes the lenses easier to see when inserting and removing. Plus, with a disposable contact lens system, you're always equipped with an additional pair in case you lose or damage a lens.

11/21/09 by Bear: "Poor durability - only lasted 1 - 2 weeks"

Pros: None

Cons: Poor Longevity

Has been wearing Vertex Toric (Encore Toric): 1 Year, 5 days/week, 12 hours/day

Replaces contacts every: 1 Month

I have had several sets of these starting from January 2009 that I ordered from Contact Lens King. Very consistently I found that the lenses became highly irritable after just 1-2 weeks. They were fine for the first week but after that they would become very uncomfortable to wear. I will not buy these again in the near future. During the first week, other performance considerations (corrected vision, eye health) was just fine.

6/27/08 by M Smith: "It's Not Just Me"

Pros: Good,crisp vision.

Cons: Severe quality problems

Has been wearing Vertex Toric (Encore Toric): 6 Years, 7 days/week, 16 hours/day

Replaces contacts every: 1 Month

I am so happy to have found this site--finally I know it's not just me. So many times my contact lenses will have a flaw, right out of the box, that makes them unusable. I've had a big problem with tears or "holes," right through the center of the lens, which feels excruciating. Because of this problem, it's hard to give these contacts a review. They are excellent when they work, and trash when they don't.

5/08/08 by Chris with Astigmatism: "Bad Batch part Deux"

Pros: excellent if you find the right pair

Cons: quality of consistency

Has been wearing Vertex Toric (Encore Toric): 1 Month, 7 days/week, 16 hours/day

Cleaning solution used: Replenish by Alcon

Replaces contacts every: 7 Days

These lens deliver almost everything that it advertises except the quality of every lens. My trial pair were awesome, however after I got my order, it went down hill from there. At first, I thought this is the final brand that I have been looking for, but I was misled. I went through 3 lenses for each eye just to find the one that will stay center. Yes, they do deliver great crisp vision but c'mon at this rate of usage i will going through the whole box in about 1 month which supposed to last 12 weeks. I don't understand why so many optician would recommend any cooper vision toric lenses. I used to wear Biomedics and the Vertex is just as bad. I was thinking of Acuvue but with such bad review, I'm probably going to try Pure Vision instead. Wish me luck !!!

12/05/06 by Astigma: "Bad Batch?"

Pros: Don't know, actually

Cons: Didn't fit, dry, went through them very quickly.

Has been wearing Vertex Toric (Encore Toric): 12 Years, 4 days/week, 10 hours/day

Cleaning solution used: ReNu

Replaces contacts every: 1 Month

I had a fitting for these, and they seemed alright. Then after a day they became very uncomfortable, so I went back and they refitted them, checked back a week later, and all seemed fine. I ordered a year's worth off of a contact site, and got them in the mail. Every other one seems defective. Some won't stay centered, and I found myself going through 4 pairs in the first month trying to find one that didn't irritate my eye or slide around. After 2 months of wear, I gave up on these, as it was more hassle than it was worth. I feel pretty ripped off.

Pros: Comfort is excellent.

Cons: Have had 2-3 bad lens per every package of six.

The comfort with these lens is the best I have had. Problem is so many of the lens seem defective, at least mine have been. Directly from the package they have had a flaw that makes them too uncomfortable to wear so I must go to the next. I was really wondering if this has happened to anyone else.

1/13/06 by Joel: "The best toric lens I've had"

Pros: Excellent vision

Cons: They get a little dry after some time

Has been wearing Vertex Toric (Encore Toric): 4 Months, 7 days/week, 14 hours/day

Cleaning solution used: Aosept

Replaces contacts every: 14 Days

In order to correct my moderate astigmatism I have tried several different brands of toric contacts. Vertex Toric are far the best contact lenses I have ever tried. They give me crisp vision, very good comfort and are easy for handling and cleaning.
