I have been wearing this lens for 18 years with very few problems. There were a few times over those 18 years when I received a new lens and the power was slightly off and exchanged the defective lens for a replacement. However, I just recently received and returned 3 defective lenses in a row. Three strike and your out!!! I am now in the process of finding a new type/brand of lens to replace it with. Two of the three bad lenses were nowhere close to the right prescription!!! Ciba Vision has definite quality control problems. My eye doctor informed me that she has two other patients that wear this lens and they have been returning defective lenses also!!! I hope Ciba Vision can correct these problems and hopefully very soon or they will definitely be losing more business!!!

I had a history of reactions to various brands up until the use of CSI daily wear. I happily wore these with no problems for 18 years. Once a fabulous product, my recent reorder finally had me going back to my eye doctor after trying 4 different reorders, thinking something was wrong with my eyes. Vendors and eye doctors are being pretty low key about the dirty secret that these lenses currently being manufactured are defective. I had blurred vision, itching and burning which I experienced 2 weeks after no longer using them. Contact lens vendors are hesitant to refund your money but if you are having problems - be a squeaky wheel and insist on a refund. Consumer Affairs should be alerted to this problem.

I have worn Ciba lenses for over 20 years; the CSI Daily Wear for at least 15, all without a single difficulty. Ciba has obviously changed the composition of the CSI lens itself, because it has suddenly begun to produce an allergic reaction in my eyes. These new lenses cause a mucous buildup, itching, and burning. I have been through three different pair in an attempt to find a set that might work; but to no avail. Apparently I am not the only one who is now experiencing difficulty with these new CSI lenses. I am sure that Ciba will say they are the same as they always have been; that is NOT the case. When I find something that works, I hang onto it, as I have done with CSIs over the years. It is very disappointing and frustrating that Ciba has chosen to alienate their longtime customers by making it impossible for us to continue wearing CSI lenses.
